DJM Takeover (5,000 DJM Players to Takeover Home Park)

AS part of the Mayflower 400 commemorations, Argyle FC is delighted to announce the Mayflower 400 DJM takeover, which will provide one of the largest grassroots football leagues with 2,020 tickets for the Pilgrims’ match against Macclesfield Town at Home Park Stadium.

Argyle Chief Executive Andrew Parkinson said: “This day is being held as part of a series of new initiatives designed to strengthen our bonds with the local community and draw in new supporters from Plymouth and surrounding areas.”

The Adrenalin Devon Junior & Minor League are very excited to relaunch a community partnership with Argyle. The league currently organises football for players aged 6-18 years old across Plymouth and surrounding areas.

The DJM League is one of the largest youth leagues in the country. Each week, they have around 5,000 players playing across their leagues and development programmes. As part of the partnership, they hope to see more of their players becoming part of the Green Army and supporting their local team on a weekly basis and to become involved in Mayflower commemoration events across the city during 2020.

DJM Chairman Dave Keast said: “These are exciting times for our league as we develop a strong and vibrant relationship with Plymouth Argyle.

“Our Under-7 and Under-8 teams use the fantastic facilities at Manadon Sports and Community Hub that is run by Argyle Community Trust; at almost every Argyle home game, some of our teams enjoy the Match-Day Magic Experience; and a closer working relationship with the Argyle Academy will enable some of our more gifted players to start on their journey to a potential professional career in football.”

The offer to attend Argyle’s Macclesfield game has been taken up by 122 teams and players will don their junior league club's shirt to create a vibrant and colourful representation of all the teams in the region.

Argyle CEO Andrew Parkinson sees the importance of recognising all those involved in the league. He said: “The cub wanted to reward the officials, as well as the players, for their voluntary commitment that makes the league possible. More than 500 volunteers a week support the league to ensure more than 160 games a week are scheduled.”

Always the new supporters... how about listening to the pissed off current supporters who think the match day experience is shit?
