| Storm Dennis No Match for Home Park Stadium Pitch IT takes a lot to beat Argyle at Home Park Stadium, and Storm Dennis has proved no match for the Pilgrims’ ground staff, who have prepared the pitch perfectly for Saturday’s crunch Sky Bet League Two game against Crewe Alexandra. Obviously, it is a bit wet and windy out there, so we would encourage everyone who is coming to cheer on Ryan Lowe and his promotion-chasing Pilgrims to leave some extra time for the journey and to be aware of the conditions. Our doors open at 1.30pm, when there will be a warm welcome for supporters, with kiosks serving food and drinks to warm the cockles, and TVs showing the live Premier League game. In addition, given the elements, we have arranged for everyone who has bought a ticket for the exposed lower tier of the Mayflower Grandstand to be able to swap it for a more sheltered spot. We will waive the normal fee for moving a seat, but there will be a charge if the switch is to a more expensive position. Please contact the Home Park Ticket Office to make the arrangement. See you later!

| What idiot wrote that?
A lot can happen between now and kick off kick-off.
If the ref doesn't like look of the pitch or weather forecast, or another bit of the Bodge it stand falls off, the game's off! |

| Dick cowdrey and Jon Back the new chuckle brothers probably wrote that...... Says alot about the new stand if you cant sit in half of it if the weather is bad lol
oh and yeah game will still get called off i wager that they are reluctant to do it themselves and would rather the ref called it off so they don't have to pay a fine for not fulfilling a fixture. |

Nor me. There is a limit to my dedication. I'm afraid the local pub with a feck-off open fire and copious amounts of Jail Ale is the only winner today! |

| The club, as has been the case for the last decade, don’t help themselves with the attitude of its social media arm. It’s sneering, arrogant ‘of course it’s on’ attitude a couple of hours ago now makes them look like pathetic, out of touch amateurs. |

| Forecast yesterday was for 70mph winds and heavy rain at kick off. No way the match should be going ahead in those conditions. They should have called it off yesterday. Putting a message out saying it's definitely going ahead at 11am, and then suddenly annoucing a pitch inspection at 1pm is stupid. Does no-one at Home Park check the weather forecast? |

| Taken from the EFL rules - Section 5
Guidance It is not permissible for a club to make a decision to postpone a match and in the first instance Clubs should contact the Football Services Department for advice. The full guidance document is available in the Football Services section on the CPS. |

what i wont be happy about more so than the game getting called off is the fact they pulled that stunt earlier saying its on its on fans arrive only to be told sorry its been called then have those fans travel bak home in this weather |

| Absolute joke that it's on for now. They know full well if it goes ahead it will have to be abandoned probably at HT at the latest. |

The full guidance document is available in the Football Services section on the CPS. See this is all fine and dandy but when the Met Office is forecasting winds with gusts causing potential risk to life there is surely a caveat right there to call the game off 24 hours before kick off. If the weather suddenly takes a turn for the better then so be it. There's also a case to make for teams at the edge of the EFL like Argyle, Exeter and Carlisle getting dispensation for earlier call-offs (both home and away) games to save unnecessary travel and expense to both clubs and fans. Rochdale against Tranmere dropped off at around 1030 this morning. Quite frankly everyone involved could still be in their beds at that time. For many games we'd have been on the road a couple of hours or more. |
