The Argyle Fans’ Trust is delighted to join all members of the Green Army in remembering the 8th Anniversary of the saving of our beloved club.

It was the culmination of such feverish efforts to save our team and our club.

There are so many who did so much to name everyone - James Brent was the figurehead, while his legal team also deserve great praise for getting everyone to sign up to the agreements that ended administration.

We must never forget either a united City Council who agreed to buy the ground, which provided the cash to keep the club going.

But over and above, it was a unifying community effort - the staff who went unpaid but carried on; the players who kept playing unpaid; Sue and her Bucket collections which inspired so many of us to join in and do our bit; and Gary and Mark, who had already formed the Green Taverners to carry out basic maintenance at the ground and provide glucose drinks for the team, as no one else could afford these simple things.

Too, too many to name them all, but if you lived through it, you will remember your own "heroes".

And of course, the Argyle Fans’ Trust was formed too.

Most of the initial leaders of the Trust have since left the area, but all are remembered and all are Argyle to their core.

And its still only £10 to join.

The Argyle Fans’ Trust is delighted to join all members of the Green Army in remembering the 8th Anniversary of the saving of our beloved club.

It was the culmination of James Brent, Chris Webb and Ian Newells feverish efforts to save our team and our club.

James Brent was the figurehead, while his legal team also deserve great praise for coercing everyone to sign up to the awful agreements that ended administration by telling them if they didnt the club would die and it would be all their fault

We must never forget either a united City Council who agreed to buy the ground, which  funded the whole thing

But over and above, it was James Brent who saved it

He is my "hero".

And of course, the Argyle Fans’ Trust was formed hijacked and ditched for Webbies self advancement too.

Most of the initial leaders of the Trust are pinkoes or freaks

They don't publish their membership figures despite Rappos perfectly reasonable demands

Not sure it's something I want to celebrate.

Given what happened in those 8 years.

There would have been someone else .

Brent's gone get over it

What? Not a word of thanks to the administrator, Brendan Guilfoyle? Who, despite the character assassination and smear campaign from the hoards on Pasoti, was probably the key figure in saving the club.

Without him pulling off the trick of funding an administration without any money, there certainly would be no Argyle - Brent or no Brent.

Never forgetting that the first things Brent did were grabbing HHP for himself, to the detriment of the club he had saved, and ensured with a variety of underhand tactics that the fanbase would be split.

All this thanking Brent just relieves him of the charges of asset stripping the club for his own gain. I will never ever thank him for "saving" us he just made us endure seven years of shite football whilst he fumbled around trying to leverage money from all of us. Luckily he's as useless as he's avaricious.

That's the kind of stuff that makes me despair, the wannabes telling the world how great they are and how they saved the club. Everyone else who carried on with Argyle, that bought season tickets not knowing whether they'd ever be honoured. There's around 6000 folk that stuck be Argyle but it's alright, according to the victors, well we're just 'fans'.

Thanks for that, o special ones.

In one.

Furthermore I resent John Lloyd posting this on here, he was perfectly happy to slate Brent and co when he was on the outside of the tent, so this is pretty damn two faced I'd say. Also its overplaying the influence of the trust, when it was founded it was little than an exercise in singing Kumbaya, then it became a vehicle for Webbys self promotion. Brent was always going to 'save' the club as long as he didn't have to pay anything. It was only the old lot that managed to scrape together money for exclusivity that scuppered it.

Brent for his part aquired us a 4th division football club losing money and left us a 4th division football club losing money.

Au contraire.. It was only Heaney ponying up the cash for exclusivity that allowed the administration to be funded. The great irony is, that if Heaney hadn't done that, the club would have almost certainly folded. Brent wasn't going to pay for it.

Is there some significance to the 8 yr timescale? scratch

I don't recall such fawning on the 7, 6, 5yr anniversaries etc?

It has no relevance whatsoever, the pig decided he would like to get some air time for himself and the 'superfans' plus gets to try to pressurise the trust into blowing smoke up Brents ass.

All classic behaviour by fatboy, only the thick and terminally dim fall for it, the rest are on his meal ticket.

I am surprised the AFT succumbed to Newell's goading.  They should have told him to get fecked.  Remember Deepthroat?  Care to comment on that, Ian?

The AFT are in a complete mess from what I hear.  I heard John had basically quit to go travelling (although appears to be around in some role?)  SFD barely turns up for meetings...  Andy Symons is not up to it for personal reasons...

The website remains out of date.  There are no reports on their supposed monthly meetings with PAFC officials.  They seem to have been reduced to posting copycat club 'powder puff' publicity pieces on Freechat?

...and what about the ACV?

Wasn't that meant to have stopped the club from being sold without a community group being given the chance to bid?   I don't remember Brent giving six weeks notice of his intent to sell to SH? There was no six week waiting window.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

What's the point of the AFT existing if they can't even police something they themselves put into effect?

I've long been a supporter of the idea of the Trust, even if I have not been pleased with the chairs, (Tony Cannon being an exception) but really...  The current edition is not en pointe and so what is the point?

"THE overnight severe winds in Plymouth have caused significant damage to the roof in parts of Home Park.

The health and safety of supporters is, of paramount importance and we are currently assessing the situation, along with safety experts, to see if we can make good the damage.

However, with continuing bad weather forecast, this might not be possible, regrettably placing this afternoon’s Sky Bet League Two game against Grimsby Town in jeopardy.

We will keep supporters updated."

Eight years of negative investment and maintenance from Sir James bent.
