| The austerity era of Brent is well and truly over.

Austerity frankly was the wrong word. I wouldnt put ATD in jeopardy by even suggesting was he was doing but anyone with an IQ of more than 7 knows exactly what that was. Bloke was a nasty evil little shyster who fecked over everyone he came in contact with and you had hapless gormless morons like Webb and Newell bending over backwards to enable the little parasite Hallett is starting to show real promise make no mistake but then any future uplift in value in the club is very rightfully his (mostly) now that the Speccy emergency parachute routine has been erased from the club for ever |

How so? Three free transfers hardly put us at risk of breaching Financial Fair Play. Yes, the two lads from Bury had a good season in 4th Division last season, but Edwards, Carey & Lamerias could be viewed as being of a similar standard. I'm not trying to "do a Freathy" but I think a bit of realism won't go amiss. When you consider that a winning team at Home Park will attract crowds of 10,000 or so, I do think those paying fans should reasonably expect some of their money being spent on transfer fees for players who are above par for the Division we are in. It's all very well having players who are good at this level and may get us promoted, but if we don't get better players, we could well revert to where we were in the past-get promoted then have to rebuild to survive (let alone progress) at the next level |

| You’d have to be a full-on Freathy-type to not recognise in a positive light what Hallett has paid out of his own pocket. For that alone it shouldn’t be difficult recognise the difference between Brents austerity and Halletts Chairmanship. Throw in the fact it is Hallet that has rid us of Brent, literally, and the fact we’ve just signed a player courted by many other higher places clubs, if you can’t raise a half smile what’s the point? |

| With Hallett at the helm, I'm feeling more positive about the club being in safe hands.
Won't agree with everything he does, but its better then not agreeing with anything Brent did. |

Hallett has himself, said that most of the money is going to building and infrastructure costs. Yes positivity has increased, as you would expect with the appointment of a young manager who has already won a promotion, and Im happy with the way things are going. But the reality is weve signed three freebies but they have done the rounds of lower league clubs a bit havent they? Mayor can be a useful player at this level and yes, his signing is a bit of a coup, but I do wonder why he declined Ipswich-distance, money, Lowe, promise of regular starting place? Has he been consistently successful at a higher level? As I say, I hope we are signing players who can get us more than one promotion. I want the best we can get (Coughlan, Evans, Frio) not just one season wonders (Worrell & McGlinchy) My concern is that Lowe isnt here just to add another quick promotion to his CV before moving on again |
