There was a smaller bid for Ladapo from Portsmouth earlier this month but that was also turned down by the Pilgrims.
Ladapo is believed to be happy at Argyle and wants to have a strong finish to the season with them.
He was at Home Park today as the Pilgrims prepared for their away League One game against Peterborough United on Saturday. he 25-year-old is having the best season of his career, scoring 13 goals in all competitions.
Ladapo signed a two-year contract with the Pilgrims last summer after a short spell at Southend United.
He is one of a large number of strikers who have been linked with a move to Sunderland in the build-up to the 11pm transfer deadline tonight.
Wigan Athletic’s Will Grigg has been a prime target for them, according to reports, but a series of bids have been rejected for the Northern Ireland international. I'd be pleased if that is true. So far it's been a shit window if we sold any of Carey, Lamieris or Ladapo it would bang several more nails in our coffin. Let's hope Hallett has more Bollocks than Brent ever did cos Brent would sell any of them for 100k. |

| Derek Adams has admitted that Plymouth Argyle have missed out ‘on a good number of players’ during the January transfer window.
The Pilgrims’ boss told Plymouth Live early today he was still hoping to bring in a ‘forward-thinking player’ before the 11pm deadline tonight.
That was before stories about rejected bids from Portsmouth and Sunderland for Argyle top scorer Freddie Ladapo started to crank up later in the morning.
Adams subsequently responded to that by stating he 'does not comment on speculation'.
The Pilgrims' boss completed his second signing of the transfer window this morning when Luton Town’s Plymouth-born centre-back Lloyd Jones moved on loan until the end of the season.
The arrival of the 23-year-old followed that much earlier in the month of Oscar Threlkeld.
Adams told Plymouth Live: “We have tried our best over the transfer window. There are reasons that players go to other clubs.
“It can either be the player, or it can be the club that wants them to go there.
“Obviously, there is finance as well and agents come into it, so there is a whole host of things you have got to overcome before you get a player over the line.”
He added: “For all clubs it has been a difficult transfer window. There hasn’t been a huge movement at teams.
“We have taken in (Oscar) Threlkeld and Lloyd Jones, while Gregg Wylde and Peter Grant have moved out.
“One more will move out on loan as well to a League Two club.”
One of the biggest challenges that Adams has faced during the transfer window is that ‘a whole host of teams’ have been chasing the same players.
Adams said: “We are trying to get in a good quality player. We are not just going to take in players to make up numbers.
“We are going for players that the top teams in the division are going in for and it becomes difficult.
“There is a whole host of teams that are trying to get the same players that we are at this moment in time.”
He added: “Some clubs in the January transfer window will over-pay and we have seen that happen.” |

| is deluded one resting on his over inflated and calling it a night on signing another?
if sunderland really did offer £400,000 the club would snap their hands off no question about it. silly to suggest otherwise. |

| As luck would have it I’m currently in Sunderland at the moment visiting family. I’ve just seen Freddie Ladapo being given a tour of the ground by Niall Quinn and Adam Johnson ... he’s definitely going! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Calum Dyson has signed on loan with Stevenage Football Club until the end of the season...
The Plymouth striker is Stevenage’s fourth Deadline Day signing and has been made with an option to buy.
“I am fit, ready and raring to go,” Dyson said. “I am thankful for the opportunity and can’t wait to kick-start my season here at Stevenage.”

| I'm inclined to tell you that Exeter City have signed Donovan Wilson, a striker from Wolves on loan for the rest of the season...but I won't, because there may be another signing before the transfer deadline, and of course Argyle may have brought in a plethora of new signings by then.... |

Laugh out loud funny on so many fronts! Argyle rejecting a £400k bid Sunderland (or anyone) offering £400k for a CF who wasn't scored for months Any Argyle player turning down a move to a bigger club I presume the "strong finish to the season" means not ending up in the 4th Division! |

| Lloyd Jones, 6 appearances in a year for Luton. Perhaps he'll fulfil his early potential now he's home. |

| After the small snow flurry i wager this will be used as an excuse for the club failing to bring another player that they wanted.
this window has been a failure and Hallett has joined the signature. |

| 3 and a half hours give or take left of the window
not looking good.
but if dysons gone there must be a replacement and ladapo feck knows what has happened there,
We can't go forward just with taylor as the only striker. |

| Well we better call it a night.... IT has been a difficult January transfer window for many clubs in the EFL, according to Pilgrims’ manager Derek Adams. The brinksmanship in action during January’s transfer window has left many clubs waiting until the final week for confirmation on proposed deals, but Derek has no desire to pay inflated fees or sacrifice his search for quality in order to acquire quantity. In the end, Argyle brought in Oscar Threlkeld and Lloyd Jones on loan, while Peter Grant and Gregg Wylde left Home Park, and Calum Dyson joined Stevenage on loan.“For all clubs it’s been a difficult window, there hasn’t been a huge amount of movement from teams, but we’ve taken in Threlkeld and Lloyd Jones, while Peter Grant and Gregg Wylde have moved out,” said Derek. “It’s been troublesome because of the way the January transfer window has been. There’s been a lot of difficulty from all clubs in it and, as you can see, everybody is clamouring for the same players. “We’ve obviously worked through our list, and we have to go for the player that’s value for money. Some clubs in the January transfer window will overpay, that happens, and we’ve seen that. “We’re trying to get in a good quality player, we’re not just going to take in players to make up numbers. We’re going for players that the top teams in the division are going for, and it becomes difficult. There’s a whole host of teams that are trying to get the same players that we are at this moment in time. “Obviously we’ve missed out on a good number of players over the January transfer window. You’ll probably see today that there’s a bit of movement from ones that we’ve missed out on.” “I’m not worried. We’ve good a good squad. I sat down the other night with [assistant manager] Paul Wotton, and we agreed that we’ve got a very decent squad here that we feel can finish the season strongly.” [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |
