| Croatia deserve their place in the final. England's complete of lack experience was always going to be their downfall. |

| I'm off to walk the dog, I will gather the final score by the cheers or swearing from the open windows of the houses. |

| Not sure what happened to England from half time onwards-all of a sudden they were trying to hit long balls to Kane not very accurately instead of playing the creative football which saw them essentially control the first half. Should have taken their first half chances-the dearth of goals apart from Kane has always been the achilles heel when putting the boot into the opposition-they got away with it against Columbia but were found out by a team with better technical players and finishers, Croatia were better over the piece. Amazing stuff from people like Wright and Keane at half time in totally writing off a team with all of those class players who play at the highest level and who were supposed to get knackered as the game went on-exactly the opposite happened, no wonder they fecking well never made good managers. Very disappointing but in perspective a considerable improvement on losing to Iceland-long way to go both in terms of producing truly world class and consistently creative players though. |

| Agree with Skinny's thoughts. They suddenly disappeared. Quite weird, but then they lost to the two teams that were half decent, so maybe par for the course and not so strange after all. Need a couple of world class bits of cream. I like Southgate's attitude, and that of the keeper. |

Truly gutted tonight. I’m not sure about anyone else but I have followed England home and away ( not so much in the last ten years) and this really was THE biggest chance to emulate ‘66 in my lifetime. Echo Greenskin and Beez’s thoughts though. We have a really great togetherness as a team which we haven’t had in s long time - and Southgate takes huge credit for that. I only hope he stays to see thru the next two or three major tournaments. Having his head turned by some Prem team would be a disaster all round. He’s found his niche. And he should stick with it. To touch on Beez’s point, although we do have a great togetherness, we do lack a world class game changer. Kane is obviously a quality striker, but without a Modric or a KDB or a Hazard to pull the midfield strings, we will probably not get to the next level. Such a shame, but they all come home with heads held high. |

| golden opportunity this world cup but sadly it wasnt meant to be. We sat on the 1-0 which as we know from experience at argyle never ends well.
England did incredibly well to get to the semis which not alot of people including me would have predicted they would reach. |
