Looking at the new blue (awful)  online ticket page for this game, there are only three blocks not to have limited on them. They are blocks 1,8,18. looking like armed forces day will be one of the biggest home fans crowd of the season so far.

Yellow forum

A message from the Argyle Talk Democratic forum:

ARGYLE and the Royal Navy will are once again joining forces to celebrate and benefit military personnel and their families with a Armed Services Day match on Saturday, November 18 at Home Park.

The annual event is sponsored by the Royal Navy’s main industrial partner Babcock and will take place when we meet Oxford United in Sky Bet League One. This year it will adopt the Women’s Royal Naval Service as the main charitable cause during the centenary year of the formation of the service. Collections will be made on behalf of the Women’s Royal Naval Service Benevolent Trust.

Family fun is included among the many extra attractions inside and outside the ground and before and during the match. An exciting programme includes the Royal Marines zip wire experts delivering the match-day ball and unarmed combat display team. Other crowd pleasers will be a penalty shoot-out competition with the Argyle Youth Academy; the HMS Drake Volunteer Band; Military Kids Choir; veteran standard bearers; Royal Navy chaplain and Plymouth Pipe Band.

WRNS veteran Pennie Burne said: “It’s fantastic to see Plymouth and Plymouth Argyle supporting us ‘Wrens’. Plymouth is a Naval city and with the club is a huge part of the life of the people here. It’s really appropriate for us to be supported in this way in 2017 - 100 years after the WRNS formation. There are so many former Wrens and current Royal Navy serving females living here.’’

That's good to know. I'm off to Home Park on Saturday and this promises more entertainment than watching OUFC on the pitch at the moment.

Ex Argyle player missing his return to Home Park because of a bad injury.

Oxford United captain Curtis Nelson is set to miss the rest of the season.

The defender was stretchered off just before half time after challenging for a header against Northampton Town. This morning he went for an initial scan which shows a rupture of his Achilles Tendon.

Looks like the Cowley massive have a bigger away following than the fabled green army, what with our much touted ex pat regiment. Who'd have thought it ? wot with all the fake village propaganda ? cat

Why does the club organise its armed forces day AFTER remembrance Sunday.. Surely it would be a bigger draw if the home game nearest the date was made armed forces day and they could do all of what they plan to do then like other clubs do on that date.

All part of extending the poppy season. It's been on the Hoe for months.  I believe Boris Johnson calls the constant remembering of those killed in their prime "mawkish", but that might just apply to Liverpool football fans.
I see the ATD gang are still doing the poppy thing, so not much different from PAFC. Give it a rest FFS. How long does one day of understandable and needed mourning need to be extended for other reasons ?

Edited to add... glad to see the ATD poppies disappear just now after 2 long weeks.
