Just started to look through my Plymouth Argyle Complete Record (1903-1904 / 2008-2009) and looked first at the 1981-1982 season. That season start was worse than this.

The first ten games went as follows.

1 Oxford United h (L) 1-0 4,089
2 Burnley a 1-0 (L) 3,476
3 Lincoln City h (L) 2-0 3,323
4 Brentford a (D) 0-0 4,943
5 Bristol City a (L) 3-2 7,383
6 Chesterfield h (L) 2-0 3,451
7 Reading h (D) 1-1 2,745
8 Southend United a (l) 3-0 3,874
9 Gillingham h (L) 2-1 3,094
10 Carlisle United a (L) 3-1 3,630

The left Argyle on 2 points, after game 11 (which they lost away to Wimbledon 2-1 2,114) , they went on an 11 game unbeaten run (gaining 18 points) and then not too bad after that. They finished tenth at the end of the season on 65 points.

I'd put yours, mine, and every other ATDers mortgage on this current crop not going the next 11 unbeaten. Crying or Very sad

That season was when Moncur took over and apparently there was a fair amount of unrest behind the scenes-Foster and Kempy were shown the door and results started to improve after that. Argyle had much better players in that team though even allowing for the departure of those two-people like Nisbet, Randell, Rogers, Sims, Hodges and Cooper would have walked into the current side. The turning point was a 5-1 win over Chester which was watched by one of the lowest gates in Argyle's history and the team could do no wrong after that. Hope i'm wrong but just can't see the current team doing something similar.
