The additional facilities, including conferencing, hotels and icerink and additional hospitality expand potential revenue streams, increasing the amount of money that passes through the club. Managed correctly this means more money which means a bigger budget.

While on match days parking is a premium, for the rest of the time there is ample parking. For the sake of about 18 Saturday's a two story carpark to increase space is useless and would bring in less revenues than the aforementioned.

Interesting that the Nooligans are trying to say that the club will benefit from Brent's private development.

What nonsense. How does a separate hotel and ice rink increase the money coming into the club, let alone then getting past the chairman and his income flood control redirection gates, and arriving in the manager's jurisdiction ?
If anything the private developments proposed will compete with whatever gets bolted on to the grandstand. I suspect the "conferencing facilities" in the grandstand are intended to boost the occupancy rates of the hotel, rather than the other way around.
Hey, perhaps a newly formed company, it could be called "PAFC occupancy solutions" could charge the hotel a percentage for filling it's rooms due to the club's activities ? I don't think so somehow.

Cant have gone unnoticed that more and more on the farm are questioning the shysters motives. Anyone with better memory than me care to precis what the arrangement was previously regards Brent providing a "new" Grandstand and who got what in return....??
Seems that what ever previous arrangement was or wasn't we were getting a new grandstand FOC but instead are now borrowing money and paying over 30 years for a bodged up makeover.....

That's a fundamental question which needs answering.   Along with where's the Wembley, Liverpool and Nelson money?

Its seems to have got lost in the general apathy towards Brent. Someone produced the relevant document previously but it may not have been from ATD...

The cost of building materials has risen 35% in the last 6 months.

You can't tell me Mr.Brent hasn't notice this and is moving this example to the top of his BS excuses list when he announces further delays.

At this rate, community Si's 5 million is going to buy a couple of toilet seats and and new abacus for the ticket office.

Grandstand Working Group Update - August

FROM THE OS wrote:
The latest meeting of the Green Army Grandstand Working Group heard confirmation that Argyle has submitted its planning application for Home Park's new-look grandstand to Plymouth City Council.

As a result of further feedback, updated plans are due to be submitted this week, showing the parking in HHP moved alongside Gilbert Lane ‎and the area between Home Park and the HHP buildings ‎becoming a pedestrian piazza.

Among other matters raised at the meeting was the possible incorporation into the project of the around 2,060 bricks of dedication currently situated in Pilgrims' Way outside the Devonport end.

The inclusion of a new memorial garden within the project also remains under discussion, as does a covered area for autograph-hunters.

So they are ignoring the don't build on green space calls then.
