| Do I get this right, the club was promised ten million pounds worth of new grandstand and assuming profit is required to pay for the ice rink now stands to get nothing - |

| And I'll throw this in. Who will own/manage and get the profit/suffer the losses of a white elephant ice rink built on the squire's estate ? Who will have the power to close it down as unprofitable and change it's use ? I assume it will be the squire. And that's before Mr Oldway actually builds anything. |

| The ice rink should be run by the life centre in my eyes. No point running it as a solo project as its not going to be that big a gold mine for anyone. At least the life centre can run it as an extension of their operation. |

Just the ice rink going? Yep, Brent has to provide 'continuous ice' as part of the Pavillions for a pound plus a million in sweetners deal. |

| Think the deal was close the swimming pool (done), move the ice rink, knock down that end and revamp the arena bit (desperately needed). I see they've got acts booked into 2018. |

| The revamp of the arena is to increase the capacity by 500 standing and replace the sound system, After the swimming pool/ ice-rink as been demolished his building plot will run across to the new cross road junction at the corner of the weatherspoon. He is trying to encroach on to Bath ST to build along side Pavillions there. |

Might as well have acts booked through 2025 we all know absolutely nothing will be built whilst Brent is linked to it. Am surprised people are somewhat concerned about the development in HHP either. It wont get built rest assured. His track record is worse than abysmal and that still nowhere comes close. Talking to my brother yesterday who had absolutely no idea of the amount of liquidated bankrupt companies and hotels Brent has destroyed.... |

Now that is a spectacular entrance after signing up in March 2013! As if there hasn't been anything else to post about since then?! |

Good point. I was thinking along similar lines. How does Mr Brent come to the conclusion that this frozen duck pond idea of his will ever return any profit? Considering how shitty, ill though-out and amateur it is, I'll give it 18 months tops, from opening to closing down to become a frozen carbuncle for at least 20 years. Shit idea, to far out of the way, ill thought-out and quite frankly, either an after thought or just an ends to his delusional means for personal gain. This whole new debacle is becoming HHP part deux - with knobs on, or in, if you're a lemon party goer? |

| 23 games a season at average of 8,000 fans, the majority of them home fans. Thrown in a couple of cup games and you might get to 200,000 people attending Home Park over a season, probably only 25,000 of them unique visitors.
Who is going to provide the footfall on the other 340 days a year?
As Mr beesrus has pointed out elsewhere why does the city need an ice rink? Neither Ice Hockey or Figure Skating feature in the Daily Torygraph's list of the 33 most popular UK sports by participation levels.
A big white elephant. On the back of the billions made by property developers over recent years you have to question the wisdom of someone who can't actually build anything profitable in that market.

| Quote from the Yokel late last night on the Farm....
"Things are on the move because documents have already been submitted to the planning office at Plymouth City Council. It's not a planning application but a "Screening Opinion" which decides if the development has an environmental impact on the area before a planning application is submitted"

Very much appears so all the lead up bullshit to a grandstand refurbishment whilst the shyster has knowingly been waiting till the 11th hour to insert HHP2 Devious bastard from the outset but is it any surprise to those here |

| A message has come into ATD towers from a distant friend:
Further information regarding the "windfall profits" issue on the HHP land.
There almost certainly won't be any, as there are others in the queue ahead of the club.
As part of the deal to purchase the freehold in 2011, Lombard have a secured charge from PAFC (Green Pilgrim as was) on the HHP land with regard to future profits. It is a public document available from the Land Registry.
PCC have a similar legal charge. This charge takes precedence over anything the Football Club may receive, if any profits are made on the development.
Feel free to add this to any debates on the topic. |
