Yann Songo'o is due to appear before magistrates

Plymouth Argyle’s Yann Songo’o is due to appear in court tomorrow after being charged with three motoring offences including using his mobile phone at the wheel.

The 25-year-old central defender is listed to appear at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court after being charged over the incident on December 2.

It’s alleged that Songo’o, who lives in Mannamead, had no insurance for his Porsche Boxster and was using his phone while driving. He has also been charged with a driving licence offence.

All the offences are alleged to have happened on Mannamead Road.

I have it on good authority he was driving his insurance-less Porsche to the Foodbank when he got stopped. When questioned about being on the phone, he said he was trying to get them to reserve two tins of beans.

Not another age old " I think we should all obey the law, punish all offenders mercilessly, until it's a law we break because we don't believe it's right" routine. Motorists are almost always involved in such scenarios.
In line with the increasing government surveillance on the poor and assorted construed ne'erdowells ( let's get 'em ), maybe all motorists GPS position should be cross referenced live with their mobile/internet activity live as a matter of course. Tiger wouldn't last 5 minutes. I reckon the fines alone could give the NHS at least 350 million a week. You know it makes sense. If you've done nothing wrong etc etc.

The scanner attached to my mobile brick picked up the word Tiger? Gotta be someone else not me. I sent my first ever text about 7 years ago aimed at one of my sons. When he got home he offered to show me where the space button was. Itoldhimtowindhisneckinandwashthedishes.

Pericard was done for driving at about 140 on the A38 but said it was his cousin or uncle rather than him-turned out that whoever he blamed had never actually even crossed the channel in their life. Dozy ha'porth, think he had a spell at Her Majesties for it.

Judging by how shit he is in defence (far better in midfield hands down) i hope he gets himself a good lawyer to defend him.

I seem to recall Carl Fletcher claiming that he couldn't remember who was driving when he was done for speeding in Alma Road. Plus the Argyle mini bus was caught speeding in Cornwall but Argyle wouldn't say who was driving.

What is it about footballers that they think the law doesn't apply to them.

Didn't Slew get done for driving at 150 mph somewhere?

i Recall Carl also claiming to be too famous for jury duty aswell.

A Plymouth Argyle player has again failed to turn up at court to face motoring offences.

It is the third time that Pilgrims defender Yann Songo'o has missed a court date.

The Frenchman was first due to appear at Bodmin Magistrates Court on May 3 to face three counts.

The first is that he drove a Porsche Boxster on Mannamead Road, Plymouth on December 2, 2016 without any insurance; that he drove the vehicle without a licence and that he was using a mobile phone while driving.

He did not appear at court on that date and it was adjourned to May 5 at Plymouth Magistrates Court.

Today (Monday), he again did not attend and the court clerk said there were no details on the paperwork to suggest 25-year-old defender, who was recorded as living at an address in Grantley Gardens, Mannamead, had ever had the summons served on him.

The French-born player, it was suggested, may be living in France before the football season resumed and as such magistrates agreed it was best to adjourn the matter to July 24, to allow the court to make contact with officials at Plymouth Argyle and ensure a summons was personally served on Mr Songo'o

lol....if the clowns sent summons out by recorded delivery or registered then you wouldnt have this farce claimed.....course he knew of court dates but is also aware he is close to a jail term on this

I wonder how this plays with Jimmy Brent's desire to have no reputational issues with his club's players. I think we shall all be watching how the club cooperates or not with the "authorities", after all Jimmy Brent has made his views quite clear, and I can't imagine for a moment they won't help out to bring the matter to a satisfactory conclusion .

There's been a few players in Brent's time with "reputational issues" , Reuben, Slew and Goodwillie readily spring to mind and of course re-employing Luke at times attracts unwelcome attention, if Songo is guilty of all 3 of those offences, he's nudging a jail sentence.

I think we can agree, he couldn't give a toss about reputations as long as they are willing to sign a short term deal for shit money!!
