It gets worse. Just read on pasoti that according to hallett the granstand roof is staying as it is! Which means if there are new seats on the mayflower terrace anyone sitting there is going to get piss wet through. LOL!

Someone's response to that was that the realigned (steeper) terracing means the existing roof would also cover the new seating. FFS the steeper terrace would have to be nearly verticle!! LOVVL!

This cheapo makeover is going to be FAR FAR FAR shitter than anyone on here currently imagines.

And obviously it will be hailed as the greatest stand of all time.

Keep it cheap, keep it ticking over, keep on with the football austerity.

It also means the pillars will remain. So how much around them will change?

I dread to think how this will turn out....

The whole project will be under the auspices of the man who made such a success of HHP, Oldway mansion,  the civic centre and the Pavilions.
I have every faith a top class stand will be delivered on time to meet the clubs needs for the foreseeable future.

Nothing would surprise me Freathy, the only 'scrutiny' is from handpicked group of sychophants headed up by Piggy Nool, who of course has been given a AAA pass in exchange for quelling any discontent and manning the barricades in sanitising the club's official message board. Chauffeur duties and free reign to wonder around the ticket office, it was easy to buy him off.

There will be no meaningful scrutiny until it's too late, Brent will release further details as the diggers move in. A '4 legs good 2 legs bad' inspired twitter campaign from Pervy Plebb will force the message home to the passive compliant thick fanbase.

I like your style, my dear old thing.

I would like to think "The lower terrace will be realigned to ensure appropriate sightlines are achieved" means that the terrace will be steepened slightly which is what'll be needed if it's to be an all seated area.  But because this whole process is cloaked in secrecy no-one knows.  And because it's brent, in the absence of any real information, you need to assume the absolute worst.

If we had a proper owner and an ambitious board, the whole sorry rusting asbestos ridden eyesore known as the Mayflower would be taken down.
Silent Si's £5M loan ain't gonna buy much, but the massed ranks of the easily pleased eternally grateful will put up with any old shit. deadhorse I

When we do get a proper owner, brent and hallett's half arsed cheap makeover won't save the decrepit eyesore from being totally demolished and replaced with a proper stand befitting a club with Argo's potential.

Still av ee's loan to pay off though lol

Could we be getting a much crapper version of Barnsley's West Stand, which is also a refurbished Leitch style stand?   This is obviously not their main stand as they're a proper club with proper owners- that's the impressive East Stand opposite.

To think if refurbished, Argyles main stand doesn't look better than that after five million smackeroos..

...and somehow I feel it won't. The excuse will be it retains the 'flavour' of our not in anyway original "Leitch" stand.

If the rake of the Mayflower terrace is steepened to a similar level then that Barnsley pic would be almost exactly as our revamp would look. However, if they are looking to keep a view of the pitch from the new corporate areas then it will be difficult to increase the rake by any more than about 3feet.

No wonder the Brent Twins want to keep this crap secret, the Mankover can now be downgraded to a Skankover!!
My advice to the Twins would be abandon this Bodgefest and sell the club to someone with the money and ambition who could build a fit for purpose NEW Grandstand.

Quote from Larry David over on the farm a member for 14 years a collosal amount of time to be associated with Kim Jong-un but nevertheless asks the one question EVERYONE wants answered....

"Sorry if I'm being a bit thick but can't see anywhere that there will definitely be permanent seating on the Mayflower Terrace. Apologise if I have missed it but can anyone confirm this will be the case.

no answers or responses to date....

I agree with Knobber Nool, a fit for purpose new Grandstand or leave the Attractive Asbestos riddled Mayflower to fester in peace without Jimmy and Community Si, lipstick on a Pig( pig ) approach.

Something like that is the best that can be hoped for tbh - the stand opposite is something a proper football club would build.

Taken from freechat and the quoted part is after the guy asked about if his "grandstand" season ticket would be still available for 17/18....

"Put it this way. I rang the club yesterday to ask about relocating before I brought my season ticket and their answer was " hang on, as we don't know if the refurb will take place this season"

I can just imagine the fun the staff will have trying to explain that to the average Grandstand Season ticket holder.
