| Plymouth Argyle v Stevenage Man in the middle JOHN BUSBY 21 Games 85 Yellows 2 Reds Assisted by Mark Russell and Mark Derrien
Fourth Official Robert Dabbs
Stevenage newsAway trips in League Two don’t get much tougher than at Home Park with Plymouth vying for an automatic promotion spot. Despite their being a lot of attention on their FA Cup clash with Liverpool on Wednesday, Sarll doesn’t think they will be distracted. They have got a massive game against Stevenage on Saturday as well. If they want to get into League one they have got to deal with Stevenage before they deal with Liverpool. They will have to draw their focus to us. “I thought the last game was a close encounter but I don’t think we played offensively in the manner that I like. We committed two silly errors from set pieces but it is an opportunity for us to right some wrongs. “It is important we leave Plymouth with not only our fans but their fans seeing what a good side we are. I don’t think we showcased that in our home game. “We like playing away from home and Plymouth is a massive club. Plymouth v Stevenage is a little David v Goliath type situation when you see 10,000 that they have had there this year. It will hopefully be a decent game.” Stevenage as lost loanee strikers Tyler Walker,he has been recalled to the Championship club Nottingham Forest with immediate effect. In other loan news, Harry McKirdy has returned to Aston Villa whilst Jack King's loan from Scunthorpe has expired as discussions continue about his future. Youngster Henry Cowans has extended his loan deal this week which sees him stay at the Lamex until the end of the season. Argyle newsDerek Adams does not expect any more new signings before Plymouth Argyle play Stevenage at Home Park on Saturday. Adams is busily working away behind the scenes, though, on further strengthening his promotion-chasing League Two squad. It follows the arrivals of defender Jakub Sokolik and striker Nathan Blissett in the first week of this month. Adams said: "I'm still working away in the background. As I sit here now, there will not be any signings before the game, unless I get a telephone call at any point and somebody says 'yes'. There is still no confirmation that the loan spells of Paul-Arnold Garita and Craig Tanner at Argyle, from Bristol City and Reading respectively, will be extended for the rest of the season. Injuries Gary Miller has been ruled out of Plymouth's clash with Stevenage after suffering ankle ligament damage and could be out for more then four weeks Gary Sawyer is closing in on a return to fitness and has an outside chance of featuring, but long-term injuries continue to sideline David Ijaha (groin), Jimmy Spencer (ankle), Ryan Donaldson (broken jaw) and Ryan Brunt (anterior cruciate ligaments). TeamOscar Threlkeld is expected to deputise for Miller. The Pilgrims could give debuts to new signings Jakub Sokolik and Nathan Blissett after both were cup-tied for the FA Cup match. Blissett, nephew of former England international Luther Blissett, will offer another striking option. I am going for a 2-nil win to Argyle
GATE I am going for 7,859 |

| We'll have to defend like against Liverpool to stop these scoring a brace.
Argo -0-2 Stevenage and yet another dismal 'performance' |

| I'm calling Threlkeld in for Miller. Songo'o forward into defensive midfield duty with Sokolik starting (what is the story with Karleigh Osborne? He never even gets a sniff) at CB. The rest what we have come to expect. |

I Trust Del Bhey has kept the squad grounded and focused on Stevenage and not just let the Liverpool replay and its glamour dominate training and preparation. We need a win here to keep up the pace and ahead of the chasing pack who are making up ground and dont let Doncaster run away at the top. Cant afford a slip up. The two new signings i guess will play today in some form dont think they will start but probs come on as subs. |

| Bloody good win, that.
Stevenage have always been awkward buggers to beat and with the whole FA Cup thing going on it would have been easy for the team to have half an eye on Wednesday. And with Stevenage taking the lead and then equalising after we'd gone 2-1 up, it suggests to me that there's a bit of steel in this squad which will serve us well over the next 5 months. |
