According to Nool Pot, the ground is too soft or something. Does this makeover extend to moving the birds nests from the roof and knackered chest freezer from the concourse? |

| So the plans have moved from HHP to a Magnificent Mini stand, to a gash makeover of the Grandstand? who could possibly believe a word Brent says? Perhaps we could run a Mayflower prediction league, and all have a guess at Jimmy's next Cunning Plan. |

| Russell Moore's excellent book "Home Park, a Pictorial History" tells you all you need to know about the reasons behind Argyle's failures since we became a professional team.
There are words and a lot of pictures, but even the slowest among us would surely pick up the recurring theme that doing a half assed job has held us back since day one. |

| Depressingly predictable enthusiasm for this over on the other site. The grandstand doesn't even go the full length of the pitch ffs. Clearly Argo were also doing things on the cheap back then too - "us'll 'aave the shorter cheaper design innum".
A 'refurbished' grandstand would look embarrassingly cheap and SHIT. Good job brent is incapable of delivering. |

Can't bring myself to look at the brain dead delusional shite down on the farm anymore, all I can say is that the eternally grateful deserve the kind of ground and club that they wish for, a fanbase lacking any kind of ambition and belief with an acceptance of failure, pandering to a manipulative "reluctant bidder" of an owner will not achieve real success. I for one am resigned to ongoing mediocrity at the Brentihad perhaps for years to come, until someone else comes in with REAL plans to take the club forward. Meanwhile the likes of Burton, Bournemouth and potentially Forest Green will sail past good old Argo and onto success, while the dim witted janner superfan groupings espouse their "punching above our weight crap" and wonder why we never made it to the top flight. |

| When became apparent that Phase 2 wasn't going to happen there was a draft idea with Barr for bobby's garden corner to be completed including new ticket offices and shop.
Something similar would unlock HHP for development, bearing in mind JB still needs to find a plot for Ice Rink before he can "legitimately" unlock the Pavillions development, which is alos supposed to be complete for 2020.
Will be interesting to see how these plans stack up against the football ground guidelines for numbers of toilets per seat etc. that the club used against the AFT's plans for better stand for HHP. |

| I cant see how trying to renovate the old Grandstand which is apparently riddled with asbestos is going to be cheaper than just knocking it down. ( though as we all know Jimmy wont be doing either option) its just Backpage Bullshit to keep the Gimps on board. |

A 'refurbished' grandstand would look embarrassingly cheap and SHIT. Good job brent is incapable of delivering. Exactly this. Brent is a non developer - he buys distressed assets, usually with other people's money - which he then strips, cons councils into giving him money for projects that will never happen and flogs the crap off in due course for a profit, having pocketed along the way. Complete and utter parasite. |

| My suspicions are always alerted when comments like 'as confident as I can be' are used. Throw in a few 'I think' and 'we want to' (not we will) and we have what is essentially a non story.
Plus there's no finance in place yet. Different speaker, same old crap. |

| The perfect description from Hitch The laughable thing about these periodic public property generalities is the use of embedded language for other eyes, not the fans. I think Todd's plans for world domination were the funniest. Now the ground is safely in their mits, there will be all manner of conflicting arguments coming out of Home Park, some of which will be directed at the city council and their 2020 pot. |

| Be quite a hard sell for PCC to spend very much on 2020 in view of possible 4% council tax rise, huge cuts to services etc. I think Brent will slap a mortgage on a newly revalued ground and get the fans to pay for it............. |

| It's no surprise to see that Hallett seems to be the new spokesman for the clusterfuck development. Brent's proved such a failure at developing anything that if he'd said anything, even the most one-eyed Aviva would have known it wasn't going to happen. At least this way the sheep are still remaining firmly onside. |

| The only thing I see here is Akkeron milking the club until the next bunch of developers move into Plymouth and 'gazump' the whole project. £m's conveniently written off leaving the club up to its eyeballs. Some might say well played. |

I would imagine the chauffeur was the type to drive him out of the Dem'port back in the day. That gang of Hallett, Jones, Wrathall, Stapleton, Todd (who only ever bunked in once) etc etc would've surely been booted out by the bovver belle bhey... |

| The way I see it is there needs to be some sort of forward plan to justify the re-valuation of the ground or, to put it another way, the only way that Hallett, Brent and Wrathall make their buck is by re-valuing the ground.
It was always on the cards that the re-valuation was the real end game but once carried out the £1.7m spent instantly gets upgraded to around £5m (possibly more because it wasn't so long ago that the ground was valued at £7.5m remember) and who wouldn't want to triple their money risk-free overnight?
However such naked profiteering would raise alarm bells in even the staunchest of their apologists hence the recent plan which will be spun to show how committed the directors are to the club and how wonderfully philanthropic they all are and (tugs forelock) how lucky we are to have them (see also the FPC announcement which they aren't paying for).
So there is no real requirement for the latest plan to actually ever happen. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if it was so laughable when finally announced in detail (if it ever is) that it never happens and all we are left with as a legacy of this latest business is a new, enhanced evaluation of the asset known as Home Park and a coating or two of fresh paint here and there. |
