Not seen much about this anywhere, but the EFL have consulted all League clubs regarding their 'proposals', which, according to the EFL, are being driven by clubs. The consultation period ends today.
Some of the proposals include including the Conference in a new League, which would be 5 divisions of 20 clubs each, meaning that each club would play 8 less games per season, more importantly 4 less home games with the financial implications. Coupled with the proposal for a winter break, the Christmas and New year fixtures would no longer be played, again seriously affecting finances as traditionally clubs enjoy their highest attendances of the season.
The EFL say that they are responding to clubs complaining of fixture congestion - something the Portsmouth Chairman denies ever hearing at the regular meetings.
As far as I know Portsmouth and Wimbledon have made their feelings known. I wonder if PAFC will come out against this, as it seems to me to be likely to affect lower league clubs badly.
Brent would probably consider it on a business, not a football, level, and he'll want to support the League. I don't think the club have asked the fans, the Trust or anyone else.
The other thing will we ever find out how the club responded?
