| Curtis Nelson tribunal: Date to be set for Plymouth Argyle and Oxford United
The former Pilgrims skipper turned down a contract offer from Derek Adams in the close season and subsequently moved up to League One with new boys Oxford.
PLYMOUTH Argyle and Oxford United remain at loggerheads over the fee to be paid for Curtis Nelson's services, following his transfer this summer.
The former Pilgrims skipper turned down a contract offer from Derek Adams in the close season and subsequently moved up to League One with new boys Oxford.
However, under EFL rules, Michael Appleton's side must pay the Devon club a fee for the finances they poured into Nelson's development as a footballer because he is still under 24.
Although negotiations began between the clubs once the 23-year-old made his move, there has been no agreement on what Nelson's development was worth and therefore a tribunal must be arranged.
Argyle have confirmed they are still waiting for the EFL to arrange a date for the meeting, which will set a fee to be paid and clauses to be agreed by the clubs and will not be negotiable.
Nelson made a total of 246 appearances for Argyle after making his debut for them at the age of 16 in August 2010.
Some of the deciding factors at the tribunal will include how long Nelson has been at Argyle, how many appearances he made for the club, what wages he was earning and what he was offered as part of a new contract with them.

| Big gamble for Argyle as they may now end up with less than they wanted.

| If the last contract offered was less than previous which seems quite possible it would be hard to see more than £25,000 I'd imagine |

| AN INDEPENDENT panel is due to sit in London next week to set the fee that Plymouth Argyle will receive for their former captain Curtis Nelson.

| MANAGER Derek Adams is not sure whether he will be given any of the money that Plymouth Argyle receive as a fee for former captain Curtis Nelson to spend on squad strengthening.
What do ATD think? answer on a postage stamp |

| Over on the Farm they have decided to have a poll on the topic [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] 10% of the posters that voted think we're going to get over 400k for him. |

| I think Nelson is a fine player and in a fair world would fetch a sizeable fee but in these circumstances £400,000 is wildly over ambitious.
So even if he is worth £400,000 we'll be extremely fortunate to get £100,000 for him.
And why on Earth has this taken so long to happen? (Not that it has yet.) |

| Have we got any clauses on Jack Stephens?
Wouldn't take much to eclipse what we'll receive for Curtis.

| Pretty sure whatever the fee is there will be no reasoning when compared to others.
I get the feeling the Club will have any lower wage offered covered by the need to extend the squad from 14 to 16 or whatever the numbers are because of the new loan rules.

| It shouldn't have a bearing on the fee, but it'd be difficult for the panel not to notice that he's only started 4 games for a team 17th in League 1.
The next John Terry, he ain't.
Anything north of 100k will be worthy of an eyebrow raise. |

Anything north of 100k will be worthy of an eyebrow raise. Hasn't Nelson been injured since pre-season? His appearance record over the last few seasons does not indicate that he is injury prone so if he has been crocked and has then come back into the team almost immediately when fit then it boosts the case for how good he is rather than weakening it. |

He was only out for 4 weeks and played in the 2-1 home defeat to Millwall |
