In short Brent loves Adams and wants him to stay for ages.

But doesn't want him to stay so badly that there is a new contract, there's 11 months to go on the one he has, on the table.

Perish the very thought.

Teflon Jims, will wait to see how the Job centre signings work out before he hands Del another twelve month big one, if the clubs who sent them to the Job Centre were right and they turn out to be donkeys, then adams himself will be down the Job Centre.

Is Derek cheap then? Obviously a hit with the reluctant one, being able to get some results with limited resources and a board with no ambition.

Alternative scenario - despite bargain basement signings, Adams team does pretty good. Other clubs notice Adams achievements on a minimal budget. When Brent offers Adams a new contract in the summer, Adams wanders off into the sunset like Sheridan before him, leaving us back at square 1.

As my IQ isnt below retarded as many of those who believe the shit that comes out of the reluctant ones mouth if he had any ambition he would be talking to Del Bhey now and get him signed up.Try and learn from the mistake of this summer jimmy when most of the playing squad walked due to being offered shit terms too late in the day because you have zero ambition beyond  year by year mediocrity

Two days is a long time in football!

The clues were there all along right enough. With the benefit of hindsight Brent breaking his post-Wembley purdah on this topic meant there had to be something more to it than met the eye but the cynicism he has inspired with countless decisions and actions since taking over is hard to shake off.

It looks like I owe JB an apology on this one so here it is: sorry.
