| ARGYLE manager Derek Adams has boosted his goalkeeping options by signing Scottish custodian Marc McCallum.Forfar-born Marc, 23, is Derek’s 14th signing of the summer and comes to Home Park after a pre-season trial which saw him play the second half of the Pilgrims’ 6-0 win at Bovey Tracey. He joins a goalkeeping roster which includes regular first-team stopper for the past three seasons Luke McCormick and Frenchman Vincent Dorel. The trio will work under goalkeeping coach Rhys Wilmot.Marc, who has represented his county at Under-17 and Under19 levels, graduated to Dundee United via Lochside Boys Club and Aberdeen, signing as a pro in June 2009 and making his debut for the Terrors five years later. In between, he gained plenty of experience in a series of loans – to hometown Forfar Athletic, Peterhead and Berwick Rangers. In 2014, after signing an extended contract at Tannadice, the 6ft 3in ’keeper, who will wear the number 25 shirt this season, was loaned out again, to Arbroath and Livingston, later signing for the latter permanently until the end of last season. Welcome to Home Park, Marc.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| SCOTTISH goalkeeper Marc McCallum has been confirmed as Plymouth Argyle's 14th new signing of the summer. The 23-year-old former Dundee United shot-stopper will provide competition and cover for Luke McCormick and Vincent Dorel. The trio will work with Argyle's recently reappointed part-time goalkeeping coach Rhys Wilmot. McCallum played as a second half trialist for Argyle when they beat South West Peninsula League side Bovey Tracey 6-0 on July 13. He had watched the 7-2 victory over Tavistock at Langsford Park the previous night. McCallum left Dundee United in January by mutual consent after making one Scottish Premiership appearance for them. He subsequently signed a short-term deal for Livingston, following an earlier loan spell, and played 17 games before the end of the season. The 6ft 3in Forfar-born 'keeper, who was capped by Scotland at under-17 and under-19 levels, will wear the number 25 shirt for Argyle. Argyle manager Derek Adams wanted a third goalkeeper in his squad because 'emergency loan' signings will not be allowed in the EFL this season. Adams did not want to leave himself short of options should there be any injuries or suspensions during the course of the campaign [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| or a non cut n paste comment how is del bhey going to keep 3 keepers who all want an are capable of holding number 1 happy? because he isnt going to find it easy thats for sure. i really thought he would have signed a young keeper 18-20 years old or a veteran who would take up some coaching role on the side for our 3rd goalie spot. So this will be interesting too see how del Bhey manages it. |

| It does seem like overkill, especially when you consider that according to Adams we could only afford to pay a goalkeeping coach for 2 days a week. |

| Better having a 3rd keeper, with the new loan system in place this season. |

Correct....the system has changed this season.....no emergency loans....just needs a long term injury and you've got no cover. |

Which is why i said i would have either signed a young keeper who could do the job if needed but would be happy to develop his skills ad play in the tinpot Cornish league and be ready to fill in for McCormick or dorrel or a vet keeper who could still do a job but could do coaching on the side play in the Cornish league now and again while being ready to stepup for mccormick or dorrel. 3 keepers who are all capable of being number 1 looks good on paper but its going to cause del bhey serve headaches as the guy who misses out on sitting on the bench isnt going to be happy about it and its not as if he could go out on loan to stay fresh is it. |

The Carlsberg SW Peninsula league has teams from Devon and Cornwall. Cheers |
