| LATVIAN international defender Nauris Bulvitis has become Argyle's latest signing of the summer. The 29-year-old centre-back has made 19 appearances for his country, scoring twice, having previously played for them at under-19 and under-21 level as well. His first international goal came in a World Cup qualifier against Lithuania in September 2013. Nauris will officially join the club on July 1, subject to a medical, having recently left Latvian side Spartaks Jurmala after his second spell with the club. The move to England marks his second spell in British football, having previously been a part of the Inverness side that won the Scottish First Division in the 2009-10 season. Born in the Latvian capital of Riga, Nauris featured for a number of smaller Baltic sides during the beginning of his career. His first club was Latvian side FC Daugava, whom he spent a season with before joining Lithuanian side FK Siauliai for the 2008 season. He returned to Latvia for the 2009 season, joining FC Tranzit, where he made 17 appearances before moving on loan to Inverness in the summer of 2009. He made his debut for them in a Scottish League Cup match against Annan Athletic, scoring his first goal for the club in the next round against Albion Rovers. In total he made 39 appearances for Inverness as they won the Scottish First Division, with Nauris also contributing four goals over the season. Upon returning to Latvia that summer he joined FK Ventspils, spending six months there before moving on to Slovakian side Spartak Trnava. Injuries plagued him significantly during his time there, and soon he was on the move again joining Jurmala for his first spell with the club. He made over 50 appearances for them in a period which saw him make his international debut in the 2012 Baltic Cup, where he helped Latvia to win the tournament in his first two games for his country. In the summer of 2013 Nauris joined one of Latvia's most successful teams, Skonto Riga, on a three-year deal. Unfortunately financial difficulties at the club saw him again limited to just a six month stay. He subsequently moved briefly to Switzerland, playing for FC Aarau, before returning to Jurmala for a second spell in early 2015. Welcome, Nauris. We are here to serve. I hope Farage doesn't get wind of this. He'll be pictured standing in front of a poster with lines of European footballers waiting to get into Home Park. Later though he'll say it wasn't him so it'll be ok. |

| Hopes his Argyle move will result in international recall- [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Plymouth Argyle defender Nauris Bulvitis hopes he can resurrect his international career after moving to the League Two club. The 29-year-old Latvian last played for his country in March 2015, and has won 19 caps in total. "Our national coach is Marian Pahars, who played at Southampton, so he knows the level here," he said. "I'm always ready to be back in the national team and it would be nice to be back," he told BBC Radio Devon. The centre-back, who joined Argyle last month, last played for Latvian side Spartaks Jurmal and has played in six countries, including Lithuania, Slovakia and Switzerland. He also helped Inverness win the Scottish First Division as a loanee in the 2009-10 season. "I'm very excited," added Bulvitis, who has yet to play in English football. "I don't know the league very well, so I'll have to learn a lot, but I'm looking forward to it. "I'll do my best every day and in every game and whatever the gaffer wants from me, I will try to do my best." Plymouth Argyle manager Derek Adams. added: "I've known Nauris for a number of years now, he played in Scotland and I've watched his career over a number of seasons. "He's a no-nonsense centre-half who'll head it and kick it, and that's something we were looking for." |

It would help..hahaha Don't be surprised, in light of recent events, if it turns out they were looking for a centre half who could juggle and shoot ping-pong balls out of their fanny |
