MANAGER Derek Adams has admitted he has held talks with Oscar Threlkeld about a return to Plymouth Argyle.
But the former Pilgrims' loan signing has other clubs interested in him closer to his home in the north-west of England.
Threlkeld was surprisingly released by Bolton Wanderers after their relegation from the Championship at the end of last season.
Adams told Herald Sport: "I have spoken to Oscar but he is one that is speaking to clubs up north at this moment in time.
"I'm not sure if he is still to make his mind up."
Threlkeld was on loan to Argyle for seven months last season and initially struggled to force his way into the first team.

But once he did, as a result of injuries, the 22-year-old stayed in the side as he put in some assured performances in a midfield holding role.
Threlkeld made 19 starts and nine substitute appearances for Argyle, and scored one goals – in a 2-1 home League Two defeat by Exeter City.
He returned to Bolton in early April and started three games at right-back for them in the Championship under interim manager Jimmy Phillips.
Threlkeld was part of a wholesale clear-out at Bolton once the season ended but his displays for Wanderers – and Argyle – have clearly not gone un-noticed.
