A LEG injury to Plymouth Argyle's Sam Ryan caused the abandonment of their away game against Illogan RBL in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League on Monday night.
Ryan, one of Argyle's first-year apprentices, was hurt in a tackle inside the opening couple of minutes of the Division One West fixture.
There was a lengthy wait for an ambulance to arrive at the ground before Ryan, a former Devonport High School for Boys student, was taken to Treliske Hospital in Truro for further treatment and assessment.
Argyle coach Kevin Nancekivell said: "We are hoping it's not as bad as first feared."
The game in west Cornwall kicked off at 6.30pm because Illogan do not have any floodlights and after the delay because of the injury to Ryan there was no option but to abandon the fixture.
It has already been rearranged for Tuesday, April 28, with the same start time.
