| nice of the club to put more effort into collecting these local awards than they have putting in the work to strengthen the squad. |

Just because Sky Sports build it up to be the biggest night in football history, most managers don't do a single deal on 'deadline day'. It's a day for clubs who work with the media to deliver drama and headlines for the press attention, and not a lot more. DA will not make the Boateng deal happen any quicker being in his office with a bottle of scotch waiting for the call, so why bother? |

Nothing to do with sky, its all to do with strengthening our squad so we can improve our promotion chances. Not signing genuine midfielder has harmed that now. |

Shame that the managers of Northampton, Oxford, Accrington, Pompey and Brizzle Rovers all did strengthen and most by 3 or 4 players which makes your argument completely lame. If we end up getting promoted it will be despite the January business not because of it. Considering our crowds are bigger than all those clubs then even we the debt we carry we should be doing something, I mean how has has our form been of late? |

Considering our crowds are bigger than all those clubs then even we the debt we carry we should be doing something, I mean how has has our form been of late? I must have missed the slump in Pompey's gates which saw us overtake them... Accept the general point though but perhaps - just perhaps - Adams hasn't found the player(s) he was seeking in the window? That's possible, isn't it? It's also possible he thinks he has enough in the current squad to get Argyle over the line, particularly if he knows Boateng is coming back (time will tell). Whilst disappointing that we haven't seen some more class come in, I am happy to see no key players leave....a month or so back a lot of people here were predicting a January fire sale, which hasn't happened. Perhaps Reid and Carey really were injured, Lord Biro? If we go up it won't be in spite of the January window, it'll be because we are one of the best 3 teams/squads in the league over the season. That still looks likely at this stage to me. It might be that James Brent has got lucky but I'm not going to cry about that if it means we get out of this dogshit division. |

| Yeh ok Pompey wasn't a good example of a club with smaller crowds but the rest of it stands. |

| Reuben's award is well deserved. You can't do much better than score a hat-trick at Exeter, can you?
The Adams one on the other hand... A "Coach of the Year" who has only had 4 competitive months is, it has to be said, a bit daft. |

| Are Foxhole having a Sport Awards ceremony this year ? I heard rumours they might amalgamate with Bugle.
One interesting snippet..... a long time ago Kevin Keegan was asked on Question of Sport, who was the top league goalscorer of the last season. He didn't know. When told it was Fred Binney of Exeter with 40 odd goals, he said "Who ? " Something happens to the head on the road from Scunthorpe to Liverpool. |
