| Devon by numbers, 2014. 5.5 million overnight stays, £1.2 billion overnight spend, almost 30 million day trips
75% of travellers now casually research/plan holidays in an ad-hoc way using mobile devices, not on laptops
80% of people coming to Devon are coming for a holiday
95% of visitors to Devon said they would return!
Food and drink is the sector where most money is spent in Devon by visitors
Wellness is not about not being ill, it's about being the best you can be at a given time
Plymouth is to become more recognised as a wellness destination |

| How many people visit 'the capital' by contrast?
It's a real shame Plymouth has double the population, and double the economy of Exeter, it's not fair on their market town and how is it meant to grow if people don't visit there. |

Maybe you are confusing ferries with the vast majority of flight passengers into Exeter, who get onto other forms of transport and onwards to better places like Plymouth and Cornwall. |

And who would make up the bulk of these Plymouth bound passengers? Missionaries, high court enforcement officers, septic tank engineers? |

Missionaries, high court enforcement officers, septic tank engineers? Not fussed about the first 2 but I'm sure the septic tank engineers would find suitable employment at Sid James Park, especially the away end! |
