| You missed out T.Rex with "Get it on" from Top of the Pops around 1972 with one Reg Dwight on keyboards. Trying to get it to embed but connection is slow here. I've always wondered if Elton was on Keyboards when the track was laid down or he just fancied a TOTP appearance ! |

| Two parts to the 1970's-first half by and large pap but with some great metal and rock like Zeppelin, the Sabs, BOC, Bowie, Mott, Roxy etc. Second half revitalised by punk, new wave and post punk when even some of the good bands of yore started to get a bit tired and in some cases pompous and well up their own arses. I suppose even some of the punk stuff was exploitative crap but there were also some great acts which emerged to clear the decks and who are still influential today. Not as good a decade as the 1960's IMHO but still pretty good overall. |
