| This game will be a stern test for Argyle, seeing as Oxford are in form, apparently. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Post number 18 is interesting to say the least. We have played many teams of note so far. |

U's get set to take on the league leaders
It’s third against first in Sky Bet League 2 on Tuesday night as Oxford United welcome Plymouth Argyle to the Kassam Stadium.
The U’s, beaten just once all season, take on an Argyle side that has won its last four matches. It sets up a great night of football, and Head Coach Michael Appleton told Yellow Player HD earlier today that it’s a game that his players can’t wait for.
“I think the players will be self-motivating,” he said. “They are top of the league so they are up there to be knocked down, and it just makes it a little bit extra special for us.”
Plymouth have stormed to the top of the table and Michael knows all about the danger they represent:
“They play the right way and have a little bit of a talisman up front in Reid, who is not just a goalscorer but can lead the line on his own. They have made some very good additions since last season and have kept the nucleus of the squad that made the play-offs last time. So they are up there on merit.”
The last time United were at home for a night game was a memorable meeting with Swindon Town. With another great atmosphere on the cards Michael is hoping for a similar outcome.
“There is something different about playing under lights. I know as an ex-player that I used to get 15 or 20 per cent more energy for a night game. We are both up there, both playing with a lot of confidence and I’m sure that both teams will be looking forward to it.
“It should be an open game with both sides going for it, but we have to make sure we keep the door locked and try not to get hit on the counter-attack.
“It’s a great indicator of where we are. I think most times when I have asked that question to this group of players they have come up trumps |

Just been on the Online Ticket System and it says "Ticket system experiencing high demand, you are in a queue" Never come across that before with the online system. Hopefully sign of good crowd tomorrow night.
rollsy The club are only expecting a crowd of 6,000-6,500 with 600 Plymouth fans. So less than 6k home fans again. I'd be disappointed if we can't get over 6k in the home end, and I reckon Plymouth will bring closer to 1,000 themselves. I think it'll be a 1-1 draw. I've read a few times, Plymouth play counter attacking football. They let the opposition have a lot of the ball and attack with some real good forward players |

| Tricky one this - possibly the first real test away from home, although I thought Notts Co would be more difficult than it turned out to be. A win tonight and Saturday at Luton and I'll be a little moist.
That's probably expecting too much though. (2 wins that is, not me getting moist) |

| I would bite your hand off for a draw. Luckily Adams will likely only be happy with a win. |

I'll shave you fer a fiver. Hey, Henge, if you're into "shaving" in that special way, you'll like this number. One of my favourite band from the 70s Grupo Sportivo. So Dutch in a Rezillos sort of way Shave every hair on my body |

BRENT OUT NOW Agree, any success Argyle get will be thanks to the miracle worker Adams not because of Budget Constraints Brent. |

| i guess simpson is in the carey hole behind jervis with carey on the right
In fact on second thoughts i feel it will be more 4-5-1 as if im sure Tanner would be in the starting line up if it was the normal 4-2-3-1

| They'll be buoyed by Reids absence. That's a big blow for us, the form he's been in. |

BRENT OUT NOW I wouldn't put it past Del to fire a shot across the bows in the lead up to January. It's going to be a test for Brent. |
