The ice rink at the Plymouth Pavilions has been reopened following a sudden closure earlier this month
THE ice rink at Plymouth Pavilions will be reopened tomorrow to members of the public after being mysteriously closed for almost two weeks.
The popular attraction will open for business - except for ice hockey sessions - from tomorrow after being given a "lick of paint".
Staff were spotted sweeping shards of ice out of the building's rear entrance earlier this month after a rumoured electrical fault caused the ice to suddeo
While an official spokesperslon declined to comment on this, a statement issued by the Plymouth Pavilions this afternoon admitted the rink had been closed due to "circumstances beyond our control."
The statement read: "We'll be open from today for all sessions, temporarily excluding ice hockey.
"Thanks for your patience. We apologise for any inconvenience the closure has caused."
Bryony Carter, marketing manager at the Plymouth Pavilions, added: "We reopened today for one session, but we are fully open from tomorrow.
"The skaters are back in and it's business as usual for us. During the closure, the rink did undergo some maintenance work."
