Well, if the rink doesn't open before long, I think we can safely say Jimmy's pulling a stroke. Might be time for the local BBC to do another piece on him if this carries on. I suppose the fridge going down will be British Land's fault as well. It really does have echoes of the wet electric socket crap Todd came out with. I bet he'll have plenty of dosh available when the stadium comes up for sale. A lot of money to be made there.

On the city centre ice skating and associated stalls, I can understand why the local permanent traders have ensured the Winterval thing is of a much shorter duration this year. It's a bit cheeky to let fly-by-nights come in and take a lot of the holiday trade every year. Mr Rapson and his Panier chums couldn't have been pleased in the past

That would be good. No one chooses to think the worst.

mystery closure

By Plymouth Herald  |  Posted: September 29, 2015

By Alex Wood

The ice rink at the Plymouth Pavilions has been reopened following a sudden closure earlier this month
THE ice rink at Plymouth Pavilions will be reopened tomorrow to members of the public after being mysteriously closed for almost two weeks.

The popular attraction will open for business - except for ice hockey sessions - from tomorrow after being given a "lick of paint".

Staff were spotted sweeping shards of ice out of the building's rear entrance earlier this month after a rumoured electrical fault caused the ice to suddeo

While an official spokesperslon declined to comment on this, a statement issued by the Plymouth Pavilions this afternoon admitted the rink had been closed due to "circumstances beyond our control."

The statement read: "We'll be open from today for all sessions, temporarily excluding ice hockey.

"Thanks for your patience. We apologise for any inconvenience the closure has caused."

Bryony Carter, marketing manager at the Plymouth Pavilions, added: "We reopened today for one session, but we are fully open from tomorrow.

"The skaters are back in and it's business as usual for us. During the closure, the rink did undergo some maintenance work."
