I can't see it happening. Pardew will have probably identified he can do a job at this level and I expect will want to see him higher up the pyramid to see if he can cope. I expect they'll either be looking to integrate into the first team or more likely if they can get a decent fee from him from a championship club

DA been to Bristol to watch Boateng in action

Derek Adams is still waiting to find out whether he will be able to re-sign Crystal Palace midfielder Hiram Boateng for a second loan spell.

Boateng had an impressive three-month stint with Argyle up until the end of October when he suffered an ankle ligament injury in a 2-0 victory over visiting Morecambe.

Boateng has now played twice for Palace under-21s to prove his fitness, with Adams watching him in a 2-1 defeat at Bristol City on January 18.

The 20-year-old also completed the whole of a 3-3 draw with Millwall in south London on Monday.

A number of clubs have asked Palace about taking Boateng on loan after his success with Argyle earlier this season.

Adams said I have spoken to Crystal Palace but there is no decision on that yet."

Understandably, Adams was reluctant to comment any further while the situation was still unresolved.

Asked when he thought a decision about the future of Boateng would be made, Adams said: "I don't know. I couldn't give you an answer to that.

"Crystal Palace have been very good to me. We will just wait and see."

In theory, Boateng could stay with Palace past the closure of the transfer window at 11pm on Monday but still re-sign for Argyle – on an 'emergency loan' – from a week after that.

However, that is not an option that Adams would favour.

Give Palace until this time tomorrow to say yes or no, If they say no at least that gives Del Bhey sometime to weigh up his options and bring in another midfielder who is as good of not better than Hiram before 2300 on Monday. I just hope he doesn't hang on too late only to be left in the lurch if palace say no.

If L1 or Championship clubs are after him he'll go to one of them. Better for him and better for Palace. If its only L2 clubs who have shown interest then perhaps we're in with a chance.

I am Gypsy Acora, "I see Pardew, he says no." (he also mutters "you cheeky cnut" under his breath.)

I think Palace would be more professional than that unless we in some way upset them when Crull was on loan here and they were trying to make some kind of ultra-petty point.

I'm pretty sure that if he wasn't coming back they'd've said so by now.

There's the reason why he wasn't in the U-21s yesterday.

It also shows he's not far off the 1st team squad. That can only be bad for us.

I'm going to have to go to bed, I'm in shock, what no Boateng? OMFG I can't believe it! I'm just crossing everything that we can sign some balding 35 year old for a month initially to recreate what we had when we had Boateng, my trust in Brent is all I have left.

Interesting, perhaps he is close to the first team and not one of the huge number of players 'bred' by premier league clubs for revenue.

James McArthur could be out for the rest of the season for palace so boateng coming back could have been dealt another big blow.

Agreed, should have done this weeks ago and identify some other potential targets who are equal or better than he is.

Whats Bobby Reid up to these days?

Well, here are the tell tale results:-

With Boateng playing........  W 11 ....   D 2 ....L 3
Without Boateng playing..... W 5  ....   D 4 ....L 4 ...and turfed out of the FA Cup at home.

With the spectacular form of Carey taking centre stage, it would appear Boateng has been very important indeed to Adams. No wonder he's still hopeful. It just goes to show just how influential at this crap level a Premier quality player can be. As soon as he started showing what he could do, he was gone. How bad was the injury ? 2 months on the table here, and playing in no time when back in Landan. That says it all. Maybe Adams' grumpy comments regarding the stretching out of injuries were aimed at Boateng as well as Reid.

What we really need is an injury prone 35 year old on a one month loan, that would get my pulse racing. jocolor I would like to thank James Brent for not only saving the club but saving us even more money by keeping the squad paper thin. It's lucky we all love league 2 so much as we may be lucky enough to spend another five glorious bucket rattling years here. I'm off to have a wank into a pasoti official merchandise sock.

I see he almost scored a cracker yesterday, it'll be a miracle if we ever see him in an Argyle shirt again.....unless he comes back to us on his slide down the pyramid as a semi-crippled 40 year old.

Good luck to him, hope he makes it at the top level.

I remember when we loaned Scot Sinclair. He proved to be too good for us, and so next season the wide position was taken by another loan who was nowhere near as good, Lee Martin.
Season long loans are just about acceptable as some sort of rhythm and understanding can be achieved, but the only circumstance I can see a positive for a short loan is if you're looking like going up after the new year, and you get in a proven goalscorer you couldn't possibly afford for the whole season. Apart from that, these loans just sea saw you sideways. Pointless in the long term, if you want to build a club, and quite cheapskate to start off that way at the beginning of the season. If anything, loans can be positively harmful, as the Seip/Anderson debacle  proved.

Has a player ever turned out for Argo having played in the top tier during the same season?
