| Mellor/nelson hartley mchugh sawyer or Mellor, Bentley nelson Purrington
done. lots of cover and options in the defence. I cant see Del Bhey playing 3-5-2 at all tbh his prefered formation despite the media sound bite is 4-4-1-1 |

Anyway, I always liked him. He rarely looked outclassed in the CCC - I'd have thought League 1 would be his level comfortably. As X says, he's a 100%er. No idea. We have 3 outstanding League Two CBs already, and have just added a 4th. GS culd play LB in a back 4, but that leaves 2 CBs - and who do you drop or move? GS in a defensive mid role might be worth a watch in preseason. |

| I wouldn't say we have any outstanding L2 centre halves tbh. The three are all solid enough, but none of them are a Coughlan, for instance. They all got bullied and outsmarted by both Holloway and Hayes across two legs only a coupla months back :/ |

None of them had a particularly good game or played anywhere near their best. Our tactics of letting Wycombe run at us, wave after wave, didn't help them either. Hartley, Nelson and McHugh are top level L2 CBs in my opinion, as individuals and have worked very well for the majority of the season as a set of 3. Move McHugh to LB, or Nelson to RB, and I am not sure we will look anywhere near as solid. |

| I see on Pasoti that they are in uproar about Northampton signing the Keeper that abused the women while he was lashed up in Thailand. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]What a load of hypocritical, sanctimonious tw*ts |

What a load of hypocritical, sanctimonious tw*ts So according to golden hind its ok to re sign a goalkeeper we fired after he was convicted for causing the deaths of two children by drink driving because he's a nice guy who made a mistake but its not acceptable for any club to hire the 3 young lads who got a bit out of hand while drunk in thailand who got fired by their club as a result and were punished rightly for what they said and did. Is he for real or is he actually saying that what the leicester lads did was worse than luke like you can even compare the two? |

| I see David Norris is still being heavily linked.
Is it worth him coming back here, at his age too. If he was to come back, would he do the job in L2. |

| Isn't Norris a bit injury prone these days? That would be a concern for me. |

I read elsewhere that if he was to play only 60 minutes per match, then that could be enough. He is prone to injury and that would be a worry, but if Adams thinks Norris can offer something, then bring him here, if not, look elsewhere. |

| Our tiny squad has enough crocks. Cox, Mellor, Hartley & Reid yet we need more? Much prefer a younger Norris sort, someone plying his trade who could do the running our own crocks can't manage. |

| Thinking back Norris was pretty pissed off with a section of the fanbase (rightly so IMO) after the booing of Capaldi when he returned with Cardiff. My last memory of him was refusing to celebrate his goal V QPR. |

| Norris donated a couple of hundred quid to the staff fund a few years ago and donated stuff for the auctions. |

| I do remember reading about his donation and fair play to him. No doubt he has fond memories during his time here but he still left under a cloud. The reasons he couldn't wait to get away haven't changed, neither have some of the cheerleaders who booed Capaldi. |

Is he for real or is he actually saying that what the leicester lads did was worse than luke like you can even compare the two? Agree totally with your thinking. It seems that Golden Hind and a few followers have decided that Luke deserves forgiveness when, in reality, it's not theirs to give. There's only two people with that right, and he isn't one of them. |

A lot is made of that, especially on 'the other forum'. It's all very worthy and given the almost complete absence of support from the hundreds of other former Argyle players it's certainly noteworthy and commendable. He's already an Argyle legend in my eyes and hearing that just cements it. But by that reckoning alone hundreds nay thousands of Argyle fans should get the opportunity to sign. If he signs, it surely has to be on what he brings to the table in terms of ability and contribution to the squad. On the face of it though nostalgia and a kind of Janner 'old pals club' seems to be shaping up as the motivation. The more I've thought about it the more it perplexes me. Gary Sawyer is one thing, he's still in his prime playing years, just. I can also see the possibility of Sawyer registering on Del Bhey's radar during his 'wilderness year' watching football round the world. But when exactly did he see David Norris play?, he's hardly played while DA was on his sabbatical. Combined with Sawyer therefore the influence of Wotton couldn't possibly be ignored as the mechanism by which he appears in Plymouth, if there's any truth to this of course. Brewster possibly?, again Sawyer yes, CB might've been aware of him from his L1 days. But Norris? If DA was coming in and properly stamping his authority on the squad i'd have thought he would have reviewed the contract offers made by the former regime and be looking to sign 'his men'. So far we've signed/re-signed four players, virtually none of which Derek Adams can possibly have seen in the flesh... Sawyer, Bittner, Rooney and Hall. And now we're allegedly linked to another, David Norris. The common thread with all of these doesn't come from his 'fresh eyes' but from 'old Argyle eyes'. All a bit odd nest pas? It's no disrespect or tainting of the legendary status of Chuck and if he came in and proved the doubters like me wrong, fair play. It just doesn't sit right is all, and in our position we can i'll afford a gamble on age/fitness/adaptability to a new, more central static role. I'd like to see some fresh blood, some Derek Adams signings. If nothing else to stop the signings resembling a Paul Wotton stag party wishlist. |

| I thought Adams would go down the Young players route, bit concerning to say the least that he's interested in signing a way past it Norris and a never much good Sawyer! next season will be a struggle near the bottom imo. |

| Is there any reliable indication that we are after Norris at all?
If we are after him I have my doubts too. He was the star guest in the business lounge 2 years ago when we played Pompey. If anything he is even more legendary there than he is here due to scoring a late winner against Southampton for them.
Anyway if they don't want him... Not good enough for Pompey means not good enough for Argyle too. |

| I think Sawyers career so far shows he has the ability to be an asset in Lge 2. As for Chuck? Really not sure on this one. Its been suggested elsewhere that 60 mins game time of Chuck could do the job! WTF! We don't want players who cannot turn out for 90 mins at max power and if those that suggest 60 mins is OK are correct then lets sign Barry Hayles and Nessie. |

League 2 is hardly up there with championship standard so if he come not that i think there is any validation to these rumours he will do ok in the middle for a season. We need many midfielders not just him we only have injury prone Cox and first year pro Callum Hall |
