We KNOW Awford is terrible.
Who genuinely looked through his application and thought he was a good option? If we were going for the cheap option he's not even the one that makes any sense! Is there any evidence at all that Awford has even been interviewed? You are jumping to a lot of conclusions based on one bookmakers odds. |

The Herald were reporting 6 candidates were to be interviewed over the weekend and Monday. You would have thought that info came from a decent source at the club. The emotional outpour about Andy Awford however, is based on nothing more than a bookmaker's odds. Probably a bit fairer on JB to start shouting he's a tight fisted, penny pinching, property developing bstrd when there is some actual evidence Awford has been offered the job! At the moment it isnt even certain he's even been interviewed. |

| Nothing Awford has achieved in football would point to him being the best man for the job, so in that sense we shouldn't be too concerned.
However, a bookmaker would not parachute someone straight in to odds-on favourite for no reason at all. In that sense it is a cause for concern. |

The announcement on who will be chosen as the new manager of the Pilgrims could be later today or tomorrow, according to reports.

We is all in the internet sense of "knowing", person is Newell and the picture was a perfectly innocent one of Home Park on a summer's Saturday and how it feels strange without football etc. Maybe he was doing the chauffeuring from the station to the interview |

| Perhaps in the name of "engagement and transparency" we have "a fan's representative" on the interview panel. |

No doubt that or one of the sold-out 6 will be having a word with JB on who should be our next manager. Actually that makes me feel ill at just the thought. FIFA anyone? |

| Shocking tactics revealed by Mr Symons on FB, and I quote............
"There were more people interested than some would like to admit, but some serious enquiries were chased off by a group of people who couldn't see beyond James Brent"
This is now FIFA-gate, part deux. |

But we as fans can't help ourselves, there's transparency and then there's a constant stream of 'leaks, nods and tip-offs' emanating from a highly informed but anonymous poster compromising confidentiality issues. It's old school but I actually quite like the fact we don't know who's involved in the process and they're quietly getting on with it. And even after it's decided we'll probably never know for sure who was involved. Just like it used to be, in house. Found out from a friend who met a former director years later that Bryan Robson was once interviewed for one of our vacancies. Would've been promising at the time but apparently he was abysmal, had done no homework on Argyle, had no plan what he wanted to do and just thought he should get the job because he was Bryan Robson. Had his interest been disclosed at the time there'd have been a huge wave of support from the masses...but he was absolute pish. No, let them get on with it. Whatever will be will be. |

| Pete Gordon (RIP) is reporting from 'a source close to the club' on Facebook that Nathan Jones has got the nod. I'll leave you to make up your minds. |

| The canvassed opinion from several Albion mates at work is that Jones will be a good choice. No club at the level he's become accustomed to operating at is going to give him the step up to the manager's chair but he's served his apprenticeship well and is ready and able to move up.
By all accounts we'd certainly see and hear him in the dug-out, a constant encourager and deliverer of tactics.
A gamble, as would Coughlan be, but if Argyle are minded to go down the emerging talent route then there are far worse candidates. He'd also bring contacts from his England U21 activities. |
