Think youll find that england played a friendly in trinidad ?as a 'sweetener' for warners vote also fa gave 'gifts' when 2018 committee came here. Obviously playing a game in his back yard and letting him keep the after dinner mints just didn't cut the mustard for Jacko. No he wanted cash. Stacks of it. In his bank account. In Switzerland. No wonder England had a cat in hells chance of hosting it. Same with Australia. Here they are fuming and want their bid money back. I'd like to see FIFAs asset seized. All the executives passports revoked and the lot of them in custody quick sharp. |

| Good battle tactics though. Keep everything quiet and hit them when their guard is down. I suspect the US team had an insider at FIFA and I bet Blatter has got some extra loo roll in - probably craping himself. |

| How ironic would it be if Russia were forced to give up the 2018 World Cup. At such short notice who could possibly host it? Why England could host it tomorrow. Great, England it's yours.
FA: "Now who were our potential host cities?" "Check that their grounds are fully all-seater and hold at least 25,000".
"Feck me Plymouth, you still got that piece of shite as a stand. Who the fecks been in charge all this time?" |

- Yep, UEFA even better.
Football fans around the world may have to miss out on 2 world cups until a rival tournament is formulated and up and running but thats all blatters fault and frankly is just tough shit. In the long run, hopefully, it will be better for everyone. I understand it may be looked into, but how will the respective European footballing powers feel about pulling out of the two World Cup tournaments, especially with money in mind. If European national sides do decide to boycott 2018 and 2020, i am sure UEFA can sort out a tournament or two for those periods. FIFA is simply not fit for purpose and the sooner it cleans itself up, the better. |

| Because he has legally bought support through the use of funds to Asia and Africa to fund projects Because he has a skin as thick as a rhino Because he does not give a shiny shite Because he provides such a gravy train that despite Dyke's assertions no-one will boycott a WC Because he successfully pitted global brands against each other. if Visa pull out MC step in. Because he knows that internet noise is just that, it goes away Because he knows that the people who vote are very rich because of FIFA.
It will only stop if the richest countries take a stand and withdraw from all FIFA events. If they do sponsors will not want to pay hundreds of millions to see Ghana vs. South Korea in the WC Final.
Will it happen - no feckin way.
Until then the WC delivers billions of viewers and sponsors queue up.
Alternatively people could arrange a boycott of sponsors worldwide but bearing in mind Geordie's couldn't even arrange for a boycott of a single game that is unlikely. |

| Blatter being re-elected will be the last bit of good news for him. Once those 14 executives are in the US, and start feeling the cold finger of incarceration down their spine, stories will be told, names dropped and fifa will implode.
UEFA need to pull out of 2018 now. |

| No it doesn't. If you are right, and I suspect you might be, that once those arrested are sweated in the cells for bit and given time enough to contemplate how they might spend 20 years in San Quentin and given some good cop/bad cop they'll be begging for a bit of plea bargaining and it won't be long before Blatter gets fingered for something at which point there will be a huge power vacuum to fill and UEFA won't be able to fill it if it has already quit FIFA. Just look at this graphic from CNN: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blatter today won a skirmish, not even a battle and definitely not the war. |

| Plenty of slagging off going on here, pretty much like everywhere else, quite justified one might suggest, but what is the alternative, Platini is a knob jockey and Uefa really doesn't look any tidier than FIFA, just look at the clusterfork of the Euro Championship in 2020.
I think most of us old'uns hark wistfully back to a time which probably never was, when money wasn't the be all and end all, but all major sport is now major business, I am all for stringing up the bankers, their surrogates the politicians and their facilitators at the BoE and FSA before these sleaze bags at FIFA, they caused far more harm to many more people. |

FA: "Now who were our potential host cities?" "Check that their grounds are fully all-seater and hold at least 25,000".
"Feck me Plymouth, you still got that piece of shite as a stand. Who the fecks been in charge all this time?" Not an issue, Russia has already spent billions on the WC and would have recourse to law if it were taken away from them. Plus of course the minimum capacity for a WC stadium is 40k, what would be the point of you Gargs having 33,000 empty seats at every home game, except your cup final of course. 12 grounds over 40k? Wembley, Old Trafford, Emirates, Etihad, The other Sid James Park, Stadio de Lune, Anfield, Villa Park, Stamford Bridge, Olympic Stadium are already there or will be by the start of the 2016/17 season, Hillsboro and Elland Road are a few hundred short, Milton Keynes can easily and relatively cheaply be up specced or more sensibly Brighton and Southampton might actually fill a bigger ground, or maybe Twickers could be roped in, the previous plot to build a new ground in Nottingham and increase the Theatre of Gnomes will be non starters, I suppose the plans at Bristol City could be changed to push it up from 30 to 40k while the new Spurs ground could be finished in time if they got a bit of a shuffle on. There are a few other stadiums which could be easily an quite cheaply expanded to fit the purpose and possibly make the whole thing less London centric, Derby, Leicester and Stoke being the most obvious ones, but as I said, it ain't happening, now Qatar on the other hand is just wrong on every level and absolutely anywhere would be a better bet, but money talks. |

| And He is gone!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Blatter has stated he will resign from FIFA just breaking now. Why he couldnt save time and did it last week when their was an election on rather than wait a week so FIFA has to go through the whole process again is typical of the man. Good riddance |
