Not that I care because I don't think it's such a bad idea. Besides not having a contingency plan should Sheridan up and go would be negligent in the extreme. Giving Wotton/Sturrock until the end of the season would be a shrewd move in the short term, in the medium term they'd be auditioning for the job full-time and in the longer term it would enable a proper recruitment process to take place just in time for the contract renewal stage at the end of the season.
I can't really see a downside and if Wotton really is an arrogant knob then they are two qualities probably quite desirable in a football manager. Regardless it would be results and performances until the end of the season that would matter most regarding his appointment. If it happens and if Sheridan decides to go (which I am not saying that he will). it would stink of a village mentality and small mined jannarism to re re appoint someone because he is local and no club has offered him work since he was fire 2 years ago at southend. What if he fails to get promoted again does 2 failues out do the 1 good spell? or do we hire him again for a 4th and a 5th till he gets it right.
Wotton is an arrogant bully as we saw with zebroski and lengths he drove him to and always has been. been one minded might be a goo trait as a leader you got o have people skills to match that. I'm with SFD. Wasn't it Hartley who said that he really enjoyed working with Wotton and he's a pretty seasoned campaigner and as for Wotton bullying poor little Zebroski give me a break. If anybody is an arrogant pr#ck it's Zebrowski. I think it's a good fit and if Sheridan goes then give them a chance.
Media comments are nothing but sound bites whether they are true or lies or both. Wotton deserved what zebroski did to him. |

| That ranks as one of the most astonishing things I've ever read on here. Incredible.

| I still think Scholes will be the number one choice for this job. Sheridan would be lower down the list given he walked from them in a huff the last time so it would take an offer to glaze over that to temp him.
I truly hope that sheridan is going too (insert team here) paranoia isnt going to be a regular thing now |

| Wotton has always been known as an arrogant bully, especially wit younger players and will have been brownosing the right people to make this happen. Expect Sheridan will be gone soon and the dream team of Wotton and Sturrock will soone be in place.
Sturrock MkIII will just be soooo typical of Argyle. |

| I still believe that Sturrock is a good manager at this level. When he left he said that he would give his side of the story one day and until that day comes I will give him the benefit of the doubt. This is the third stint for Graham Westley as manager of Stevenage and he's doing a good job on a shoestring something that Sturrock was good at here and at Southend. As for Wotton being an arrogant bully then maybe that's what this club needs. If Shez goes then bring it on IMO. |

However, if he has actually applied for jobs recently and is actively applying for other jobs on an ongoing basis, then I'd rather he fecked off now and give someone else a chance to salvage something from this season. According one poster on PASOTI, he has applied for the Oldham job ?. |

| What does applied actually mean though? In the closed shop world of the revolving football manager I'm sure it means he's "let people know" he'd be interested.
Can't picture Shezza sitting down with his crayons and asking his wife what he should put for hobbies and interests and whether they know a GP who can be a referee. |

| He failed the interview here according to speccy..............til they asked easier questions presumably.
I can't see clubs fighting for his services.
He was a good footballer, has played under some decent managers and must 'know the game'. One Div 2 promotion aside, that doesn't make him a communicator and/or an inspirational leader. |

| Hugely Elias.
On his first day and meeting with PNE players he told them, "my kids don't call me dad, they call me medal winner".
They thought it was a joke...... It wasn't. |

Isnt it sad that you can read pasoti like a book and know wehat they are doing before they do. |

| I'm not sure I'd agree it's being orchestrated but there does seem to be a lot of chat (on both sites) about the Luggy/Thuggy combo.
I'm undecided whether it'd be a good thing or not. No new manager offers a guarantee of success but as the pair have given us success previously and clearly love the place you can see why it 'appears' appealing.
Flip side is that both also come with baggage, Sturrock because some single him out for all the woes of the NWO's reign, Wotton because of 'water bottle gate' and his stint in the team during the last couple of years.
Do the pro's outweigh the con's, the con's outweigh the pro's or do they cancel each other out? That's for every man jack of us to work out for ourselves. Me, I'm still wrestling with it. |

Both of them were also prepared to clear off when they thought the grass was Greener. Sturrock in charge 2008-10 was a total disaster, average players on sky high wages, a huge squad, players sidelined after Luggy 'fell out with them', more average players, Seipgate... |

| Why it all went as wrong as it did is something of a mystery but if you watch MotD on any night you'll see James Chester, Yannick Bolassie, Jason Puncheon, Ashley Barnes and in the past there's also been Joe Mason, David Stockdale, Craig Noone and others who have gone to enjoy success include Paul Gallagher and Kari Arnason. And that's just off the top of my head.
We could do with players of that quality again. |
