| ... in the wake of the PCC fall out.
On his return to the club where he was due to pass details on to the rest of the board at a meeting he told them that his relationship with Tudor/PCC is now completely defunct apparently, there would be no more support for the club from the council and accordingly he offered to resign in recognition of how badly he had fouled up, nobody else is thought to be directly responsible for the collapse in the negotiations but Club President Webb's role in local electioneering has not gone unnoticed in circles much more influential than this one
The rest of the board rejected his offer.
Where this leaves the team, the club, Brent, the rest of the board, his and their longer term commitment, PCC's long term attitude to the club, the prospects of any development of any kind ever happening and lots more looks completely unknown.
At least that's the word on the street insofar as it has reached me. |

| Interesting, Tudor wont have cared much for the recent Bretonside ultimatum and Brent is going to have a major headache getting out of this situation ie cutting and running - especially his exposure to providing 'continuous ice' |

| What? You mean Brent took responsibility and didn't lay the blame elsewhere? |

He's been mugged so often by so many past and present directors of the club you'd think he must have learnt his lesson by now. |

| I don't know much about Wrathall but can't think of anyone else with the money to take over. I'm sure it won't take long before he's buttered up by the brown nosing self promoters though, Plebb in particular to secure his position as President |

At least that's the word on the street insofar as it has reached me. What exactly is James Brent official position on the board-is he chairman or just a de facto member? |

Is that the best he can do? Bloke says something he doesn't like ergo he must be pissed. Pathetic, isn't it? |

This is from the same man who a few months ago told the world that PCC was going to build us a Grandstand.
I do wish he'd make his mind up.

| brent must be livid that the two people he entrusted to deliver him the fan base have failed so spectacularly. this despite the the Webb being given carte blanche to spew out his drivel in the herald and brent's chauffeur given the keys to the clubs largest fan website.
both position seemed to have gone to both's respective head. with webb telling everyone and anyone about how they must support the club or else they are Exeter supporters and IJN (is he ever off the Internet? Seems to me he is poised to pounce at each and every (white)anti Brent post and has some kind of Sherlock Holmes Irregulars reporting back to him everything that happens in Brentville) |

| if JB had resigned as chairman, he would still be owner of the club until someone bought it off him and the club board would still be answerable to him as the owner.
De facto, nothing would have changed if he had resigned or not. |
