So it's essentially broadcasting the game on a big screen at your home stadium? And you can only show midweek matches? Nah thanks. If I was in touching distance to Home Park and absolutely couldn't attend away then maybe, but I'd much rather travel or the radio will suffice. Seems a bizarre set up for the football league, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it used in the Prem soon. Didn't a team in the playoffs do something similar?

These people must think that most football fans are idiots  Rolling Eyes

X THROBBER ......... idiot.

How many more times do we have to provide evidence that Argyle's support base and potential is the same as many comparable city clubs that have made the step up to the top flight and then enjoy cemented fanbases. A few seasons in the second tier does not have anything like the same effect.
The bloke is as dim as the nool .

How many do you expect to turn up right now X'y, in League Two? We're currently averaging 2k more than the last time in this tier of football. Our opening day away support was higher than 11 of the 12 League One sides and 5 of the 12 Championship clubs.

I think it's relatively good, yes, I agree with you Shocked Laughing

It makes the drift away in the championship all the more baffling though doesn't it. In league 2 we look every inch a championship club in the raw, but in the championship we look every inch a lower league club

We've always been a big fish when we're in a small pool. But when you transfer a goldfish to a bigger tank/pond it increases in size and grows into it, Argyle's fanbase does the opposite.

I truly wish there was a magic wand beyond the £50-75m* bankrolling required to 'guarantee' a premiership charge. But I can't think of one and we nearly went to the wall for a third of the lower end of that..... and could yet go to the wall for 2-4%*of the lower end of that.

So I don't have a magic solution. What I do firmly believe though is that throwing money we don't have at the club, team and/or stand is definitely NOT any form of solution. Yet that's what the 'show some ambition' lobby are demanding, just as they were in the championship. I argued against it then so if no-one will credit me with anything at least credit me with consistency 😉

*fag packet maths so don't over analyse them, you're smart enough to get the point.

Towards the end of the season if Argyle were challenging for promotion and were away at another of the promotion rivals on a Tuesday night, fans might be interested.

Watch a big screen in mid winter, in a freezing cold stadium? No thanks. A big screen in a decent sized supporters bar? Now that could be a different story but numbers would be restricted.

And i bet that there would be a few though who would sit in a cold stadium and watch a certain important away fixture. No doubt Argyle would charge a small fee to get in and watch.

But it's still had a pretty damned good effect on attendances. Just imagine the increase if we'd had Premier League. Well, you need not imagine - but merely look at Portsmouth and Wolves and how they sustained their top flight crowds when dropping into the lower tiers.

the reason is quite simple, 1500 turn up at cambridge EXPECTING a win because at that level we are considered a BIG club and foolishly think a big turn out leads to victory, turn up at Derby County EXPECTING an argyle win and you are going to be disappointed !

bit like those booing at cambridge  lol!
