| I've used them a couple of times now and as you say Angry the earlier you book, the cheaper it is. You choose your seat, which way you face, what time you depart and from where and what time you come home. You then pick up your tickets from the station in advance and you're ready. You just have to make sure you get the trains you picked. _______________________________________ I'm one of the common people so says the wife! | I got a train from London to Exeter for 26 quid one way with my railcard, which I was happy with. My girlfriend, her younger sister and her friend got 3 tickets for 20 quid to go from London to Brum without a railcard through the trainline, which again is awesome. But as many of the League Two sides are located in towns and smaller cities and don't seem to pass along the more popular train routes I find it can often work out quite expensive, especially if I'm leaving from Worcester, to get to a football ground - what with all the changes and that. Often for me it works out, quicker and cheaper just to drive. |

| any game in london from brum spowell use chiltern or London Midland.
plym-burton split journey at, cheltenham - still use same train just multi tickets. cheltenham - newton abb is cheaper than chelt-tiverton !
any area with PTE try day ranger - if we're in north west split chelts & wolverhampton ?

if only the rail was still owned by tax payers the fees maybe be fairer |

| According to the Trainline there is absolutely no way you can get from Worcester to Luton...
Morecombe is cheap, so maybe - but it's a bloody long day!
Same goes for Accrington actually - about £15 for a return from Worcester but another long day.
Maybe if Brent gets his wallet out and we've got a half decent side to watch, but I'm not making the effort for the crock of shit I saw on Saturday. Cheers for the advise though! |

| Worcester - Luton is a bit of a one.
Looks like you need to do Worcester - Brum - Leicester - Bedford - Luton.
3 changes - journey time about 4 hours!
I wouldn't specify a particular train to travel on if I were you. |

| I live not far from Spolly, and bought tickets for Luton once (about 12 years ago) then didn't go to the game due to the incredible complications in the train service. It was a night game and I literally couldn't plot a train route home after the game!
Now I am a bit older, I drive every time. Easier for me being in the midlands mind. Trains definitely aren't cheap, you might get the one off special but in general they are exorbitant. How some people can afford £20 tickets, £60 transport, a little extra for food and a pint. I can do a few games a season (generally the ones closest to me) but my heart goes out to the truly loyal fans, sitting on stinking old diesel coaches doing 58 MPH all day to watch us have one shot at Cambridge. |

Had a cracking time and got to try all their home brew booze the Friday night. Weather was cracking on the Saturday and being only 40 minutes from Cambridge we didn't have to travel down to the ground till the early afternoon. Shame it was spoiled by the football.
Sums up most Argyle away games. I made the mistake of going to Weston super Mare which was really sh1te. |

| I usually do about 10 away games a season...but I've recently got a part time job to fund more away games and I hope to make every single one this season.
Average away day is £10 ticket, £33 transport plus probably £15 for food and a programme.
That's around £58 quid for an away day. X that by 23 and you are looking at £1334 a season.
Oh being an argyle fan is jolly good fun. |

| Country/Rail an absolute joke. My mate and I once went to the States on business... Gatwick LAX £250 wheras his train fare from South Wales was about the same. That is not right. Here, Faro to middle of nowhere on HS tilting train, 300+ miles £30 and 3.5 hours- £50 return, same day. In the UK, Planned HS2 £100.... billion for 20 years out of date "technolgy". Privatise or be damned. Tried to get off the ferry at Portsmouth and get a train to Cornwall (anywhere)....11 hours with 4 changes and £90. Bollocks. Shan't rant anymore, futile. Grrr. Twats in charge. |
