He said: “I have seen it again today – we are short in strength of depth.

“One or two players aren’t really showing me they are ready to be in and around the team, and I’m a bit disappointed with that.

“I expect them to be fighting a little bit more to try to force their way into the side.

“If anyone is performing well I will put them in, it doesn’t matter who it is. I’m not frightened of doing that.”

Who's he slagging off here?
Harvey, Allen and Purrington imo.

Lecointe / Bentley?

I haven't seen any friendlies so I have no idea who is looking hungry and who is coasting it.

Where is Ryan Lane currently? He was taking these opportunities this time 12 months ago, and that is the last I have heard of him.

Saying some players are not quite stepping up to the mark....is not slagging them off.....just reminding them that they have to pull all the stops out if they want regular first team football.

Seemed like a public bollocking to me! He expects to see more desire from players he considered starters/fringe players, and will keep them out until they start showing something.

His handling of Luke Young shows he takes exception to soft attitudes.

And good for him, boots up the backside required for some, two preseason wins against the mighty Tavy and WSM is pretty uninspiring.

Ryan Lane had a lengthy injury, not sure what he is doing now.
