| My word, what a cracking match Belgium Vs the USA was.
All the QF sides deserve to be there. |

| The last 8 consist of all 8 group winners. It's hard to pick any winners. Should be a good couple of days of football. I see that they are expecting large scale rioting should Brazil be knocked out tonight! Keep an eye on the ref? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Brazil concerned of violence in defeat Posted at 10:08 Brazil's government fear widespread rioting if the country are knocked out of the World Cup at the hands of Colombia tonight. The Daily Mirror reports thousands of police will roam the Estadio Castelao in Fortaleza to prevent trouble while over 100,000 police will be in operation across the 12 World Cup venues in the country. Bomb squad officers are also in place to deal with any use of explosives by small protest groups. |

| what a game that was. Feel for Costa Rica who would have thought they would have gone furtherest in this world cup out of a group with Uruguay Italy and England. |

It was a good game, but normal service has resumed and the four best sides in the World are in the Semi-Finals. Just goes to show how far England have slipped behind and the German Manager said England will not win a major trophy for years [if ever]. We should start up a campaign to get every England fan to turn their backs on ''Team England'', perhaps that will hurt the FA, and more importantly, see the coffers gradually decline.. I read yesterday that some England fans were at the Germany QF and had had their faces painted with the German flag. They also held up a sign with words of - ''look what you've done to us Roy'' [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Root and branch change is what's needed, we will struggle to qualify for Euros at this rate but when are the FA going to get their fingers out of their arses? |

| It looks like you can have a great league like the premiership, full of foreign stars leaving you with a shite national team, but you cant have both a top league and a top national side( unless your Germany). |

| Most of the German squad come from Munich. The playing style is not that different (well, wasn't until Pep turned up).
I see that Liverpool have signed another two England players...........
How many England players do they have now? |

| Trouble is most fans are more interested in their club, than the national side. If I was offered a choice of Argyle being promoted are England winning the World Cup, I would choose Argyle every time, and so on right through the league. Most fans care more for their club than England. The FA behavior reflects this. |

| Van Gaal has certainly got the very best out of a Dutch squad that are, minus RVP and Robben, on paper very ordinary. Neymar getting crocked has given the Germans a massive advantage. Love Brazil to win it but...
....Germany to beat Argentina in the final, I recks. |

I'd say that most fans in most countries are like that though Pete. We need to sort our tactics out more than anything! |

I always want England to do well, but yes, Argyle are first and foremost. |

Might as well have shown Coronation Street instead and cut straight to the penalties because thats all it was ever going to be.Jerries v Argies-tough one to call,Germany have been the most fluent and potent team of the tournament but just got a sneaking feeling that the Argies may edge it somehow. We shall see. |

repeated after every tournament. just not good enough. I don't know what the answer is. I also don't know of any other country in the world that gives its International players so much time off from club competition in order to prepare for games...even friendlies. I know one thing though..and that is that Greg Dykes solution in getting the likes of Liverpool reserves to play Accrington Stanley in League 2 is one the biggest piles of shite I have ever heard in 31 years of supporting football. |

I was more in favour of them play in the johnstone Paint trophy but then i realised feck IT why not make prem clubs play a minimum of actual homegrown players that are english in matches. That would work far better than the likes of Ross barkley scoring 12 past a crap club like york on a rainy tuesday evening.

| Exactly Angry, limit the amount of overseas players allowed in PL and league clubs down to the conference and also in the teams on match day. Make the PL give more of the 1 billion pounds earned last season (I think that was what it was. SFD did post something about it somewhere on here) for Football league and grass roots clubs. _______________________________________ I'm one of the common people so says the wife! The English reserve system of old was what inspired Spain's model which several years later inspired that Greg Dyke and his clueless bunch of premiership darlings want to introduce here. IMO in a match day squad of 18 at least 3-4 should be english rissing to 6-7 in time. |
