But at the moment it seems Brent is not capable of rescuing and is himself more in need of rescue... Two former Albion players Dave Venables and Bruce Priday are rumoured to be seeking a majority shareholding in the club and thereby effect a takeover. Their principal interest would be to re-build Albion as a rugby club at Brickfields. Sorry, Graham... Not up to speed.. What has Brent got to do with (POI's theory) it? |

| Interesting about Bruce Priday if true. He is very much an Exeter Chiefs man though dont think he has any direct links anymore. He was instrumental in raising funds and finance for the Chiefs in years gone by and had a lot of input to funding the Sandy Park development.
Priday has a lot of connections and knows how the banks work, can only think it would be good news for Albion if he were to be involved.
How this all ties up with Argyle is unclear but I am sure there is a connection somewhere. |

How this all ties up with Argyle is unclear but I am sure there is a connection somewhere. Albion have been suffering financially for the last few years. I think last season their average crowd was down to around 1,700 (almost half of what it was). The Corporate side has suffered too and the Friday Night games did not attract the crowds or corporate spend expected. I believe Albion have something like 15 years left on their lease with the Council for Brickfields. There has also been some well founded speculation of a tie up with the University in order to reduce or share costs and facilities. However, now the University has some well publicised budgetary problems which may make this more difficult to achieve. I suspect the only likelihood of Albion ground sharing at Home Park is if they make it to the Premiership and the immediate cost of upgrading Brickfields becomes prohibitive. They could not justify doing it given present attendances and the site at Brickfields would not, in the short term at least be a development option for the Council as its facilities have strong Sport England policy protection. |

Half the home games fall on the same days as Argyle and they have been awful at home in recent seasons. I rather Albion kept their new home rather than move back to Home Park just to bail Brent out with money. |

| It makes sense to me for Argyle and Albion to groundshare and not play home matches at the same time which must affect attendances if only by a few hundred. |

nahhh Albion have their own home and are in no danger of losing it despite claims on here its nearly run out as a new 100 year lease will kick in once the old one expires. moving back to home park wont boost attendances at all only if Albion started playing good rugby and win at home like the good old days will do that. Both clubs can request to keep as poss games held at home to not clash with the other but to my knowledge (damon may know if the club has done in the pass or not) neither has done it. If one or the other were in the premiership it would be automatic. Besides, the only one who will benefit from Albion being there will be brent neither argyle and albion need it so no thanks. |

| It took the Herald some months to catch on to our story. There was one person at the meeting I forgot to name, it was Mr Evans. Another follow up in tomorrow Herald is where Albion are admitting to be looking at two options. Could this be Brent big new in October?

So HHP depends among other things on moving a rugby club for no reason into Home Parkfor rent. i would laugh at that if i didnt think it was serious. |

I was surprise to see Mr Brent there, asked a few question and was told it was a hush hush meeting between Albion, Plymouth University and Mr Brent.
Which dog walker told you that ?? P'raps he was visiting Brickfields Albion ground to see the seating plan for the RM350 South West Proms this summer, an event to mark the Royal Marines' 350th anniversary. OR Maybe its the preferred location for the new ''Brent airways'' service to Pluto. |

You do not have dog walkers in the Brickfields, As I mention before I have no dog and never will. I am only interesting in keeping Plymouth green open space. I support both Albion and Argyle and will be at the Brickfields on Saturday. If I told you where my information came from they would lose their job. Just look what I put out in May and what is happening now. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

| I have always thought it made sense for Albion to share our ground, for one thing Brickfields has many more future options for the council than anything in Argyles vicinity - hows about an Ice Rink, cinema, Nandos and hotel?! Central Park in general should be Plymouths focal point for all 'sporting' venues (so ok Ice Rink maybe) and must say that the Life Centre has fitted in well as a first phase - not sure if any of that fits in with Brents overview of course!! |

why have you always thought it made sense? because to me and other albion fans there is no sense moving back to a ground to be made to feel 2nd rate just so some wannabe property developer and his council mate can push through HHP with more backing. |

Econonies of scale - share of facilities, outlets etc. I suppose we can all come up with barriers but in a city seemingly low on cash in virtually every level, think it would benifit all. With regards to who does it, it was my opinion way before Brent rolled up. If you are an Albion fan I respect that your position might differ - I live closer to Bath so take in a few up there each season but the pubs are more of a pull than the rugby. |

There wouldnt be more cash benefit though Bandwagon. It would be very different if Albion were a prem team as the cash flow would be fantastic and Home Park may even be full for some games but Albion are no where near that level adn to play at a stadium that will be a massive 16000 for life will look stupid and the money being brough in would make no difference what so ever may even be running at a loss. As for facilities there wouldnt be any change there as Argyle have none to share lol |

| I reckon he was there to help out Excretia City by checking whether they could ground share Brickfields. Snag is with a capacity of 3500? it may be too big Probably went to Elburton Rovers next. |
