| I remember watching the TV that day and the News flashes when it turned live to the fire, a very sad and horrific day. |

Football clubs became very blase about safety in that era.Remember standing at the back of the Lyndhurst one very windy day and two sheets of galvanise blowing off the back. They flew clean over the football pitch towards where Goals is now, very luckily no match was being played-someone could have been decapitated if there was.The Bradford disaster doesn't get as much publicity as Hillsborough or Heysel, can't remember any minute silence for the victims on the 25th anniversary of the tragedy, although i stand to be corrected-there was a minutes silence at yesterday's play off matches though.Awful day, hopefully nothing like it will happen again. |

| i remember a friendly at home park Devon xi v saltash ? to raise money for victims a week or so later. recall going i think devon won 3 nil, i have the programme somewhere. the season now finishes a week earlier so theres no proper media exposure, the hillsborough disaster anniversary is always during the season. its not often menationed that lincoln fans also persished on that dreadful day. the one image that has never left me is the old bloke clearly on fire waving people to help those trapped rather than help him |

| It's worth noting the vast difference in coverage the Bradford stadium fire gets in comparison to Hillsborough. Can't help thinking that the fact that Bradford & Lincoln aren't fashionable clubs has a lot to do with it. There is plenty of hypocrisy in the media over the treatment of different events. |

I remember the sheets blowing off the Lyndhurst, I also remember somebody falling through the asbestos on the Grandstand, or did that happen at Sid James? Brad ford was awful, I had a mate at the game and he won't go to football anymore unless he has a seat pitch side. |

| I think it was Everton fans that fell through the roof of the Lyndhurst, back in the mid 70s? |

Very much so. I took criticism for my attitude to Hillsborough, and the fact it is reflected on in the media every year with publicity totally unlike other tragedies like Bradford. To have a 29 year anniversary fall on the exact day as the last Premier league game of the season, and NOT have a silence, is thoroughly shameful. It just makes me angry. What makes Hillsborough much more worthy of mourning - were Liverpool fans so much more important that the nation needs to mourn them every year, but to forget what happened at lower league Bradford v Lincoln without a moment's reflection? Not for the first time the FA have looked like cretins this week. |

| And it could have been so much worse. The death toll would have been in the thousands if there had been fences in front of the stand. |

| Very true frank. Although i think it was an unwritten rule that there were no fences in front of seating, after all in those days about 10% of ground would be seating ? |
