an aviva for me is the somebody who blindly follows and is unable to accept critiscm of there team or chosen object in argyles case its loving every person you meet connected with the club stapes, wrathall, originally then even todd and campbell were deemed to be good guys by some who met them thats where kagami went wrong should of popped in to the brit or executive lounge now it's all happening with james brent yes he may be saying the right things for now but we need to see how he backs the manager in january his long term plans for the club but most importantly until he puts his redevelopment plans on the table nobody truly knows if he is here because of his love for the region or has he spotted the same oppourtunities as the former board, heaney ect but has the cash to see it through and claim the profits, but avivas dont ask questions they just blindly follow until they decide its time to unleash the dogs of war if i was james brent i would be distancing myself a little and be watching my back in case they decide the halo has slipped one day

I rather suspect that Jimmy has those guys sussed. He'll continue to massage their egos while he believes they can provide some cash value. He'll have to do something really obviously bad for these janners to relinquish the key to the executive toilets.

Nice Jack Lemmon reference there.

If you played a turd at centre forward, the Aviva would make up a song for it.

When you question the managers decision, the Aviva smugly retorts that the manager knows far more football than YOU! Why don't you just support the team, you peasant!

When it becomes quite clear that the manager hasnt got a f**king clue your Aviva will demand that you list every available manager so they can label them as not good enough or wouldn't come.

An Aviva believes when you meet St Peter at the pearly gates, he will ask whether they went to Rotherham away this season before letting you pass. At all times the Aviva holds the moral high ground, because they are BETTER than you because THEYM PRAAAAPER FANS like that there Eeeeen Noool!

Obviously it was before the Aviva handle but the perfect Aviva is one who trusted in stapes when overwhelming evidence pointed to his actions seriously damaging the club. Not even selling all our best players dented their hero worshipping of the local bhey. Utterly bemusing and baffling.

Why they automatically believed *****wallet was telling the truth and Ollie was a "weasel faced liar" I'll never understand.
But then I'm not a jocolor jocolor jocolor

Trust in stapes
Look how far we've come
Enjoy the ride

My impression of the ultimate Avivas are those creatures that inhabit the pyramid suite that itch to have their ugly grinners on greens on screen week after week after week etc, slightly disturbing and a tad similar to some kind of tinpot dictatorship regime.
As soon as anyone from outside their insular Pasoti "clique" tries to muscle in on their new found fame they get their trotters in a fuddle. But in the whole its as most on here put it, they sit in their own areas of the ground, have their own area by the window in the Brit and scowl at anyone not in their own circle of Avivas as outsiders or not "praaapar fans", their too thick to realize that rattling a bucket or selling scarves is failing to address the long term future of the club.

and moaning about people who are trying to do their bit, really helps the club doesn't it Rolling Eyes
Proud Bay Window Boy, Fan Fest go-er, bucket shaker, scarf seller - where do I get my Aviva Janner banner on this site?

Although tbh I don't scowl or think that I am part of an exclusive group. Rickler has met me, and I would like to think he found me nice and down to earth. I certainly didn't scowl or ignore him, and he is definitely not an Aviva. I think I am quite an approachable person, and would happily chat and spend time with anyone. I am not of the opinion that there is an us and them. We are all Argyle fans, who want the best for our club.. Don't see the need to mock those who do their bit by giving up time to raise a few quid though. But if that's what makes you happy, carry on! Smile

It has always rather annoyed me that if anybody tries to do anything there are always those on the sidelines just waiting to snipe. How about a bit of encouragement.

Anyway.

If the Avivas want to wear green and black scarves, they can. If I want to sing I will (I won't though) and if I don't want to take part in the Trust, saving Argyle and joining the love in for all things Pasoti, I won't.

Thing is, there will always be those that do and those that let them. There will always be those that try to chivvy the others into doing stuff and there will always be those that snipe.

That is the great thing about ATD, we all rub along together. I can have a row with greengenes on one thread and be in total agreement in another. It's bloody brilliant here, we just need more people on board.

Shall we sponsor a match between us?

I might be up for that. Depends on which ex-director we're going to invite as our guest, though What a Face

I thought Todd or Stapes?

We could get them to draw the 50/50 and do the pre-dinner chat on how to run a football club.

Seriously though - start a new thread?
