| Lot's of "six pointer" games still to played.
Argyle v Oxford Oxford v York Rochdale v Southend Scunthorpe v Oxford Fleetwood v Southend Scunthorpe v York Southend v Burton.
Lots of points still to be won and dropped!
Stating the bleedin' obvious, but if we can get back to winning ways in our next two games..........
I haven't given up just yet. Look out for D&R coming up on the rails though! |

| Form and momentum is everything at this time of the season. Sadly, we have neither.
If there's a glimmer of hope it's looking at how Southend arrested their slide. A dozen or so games without a win and dropping like a stone was then turned completely on its head. It's unlikely, but two wins this week would keep us there or thereabouts. |

| The recent slump has all but ended the likelihood of pafc making the playoffs.
Would need to win 5 or 6 of the remaining games..

| I'd eat my novelty Argyle hat if we even got within six points of the play-offs at the end of the season. For me, it's over. |

| It was over the moment Lavery went back, we would probably be looking at a chance for an automatic if we had held onto him. Banton has been the biggest disappointment this season, if he had played as he had in his loan spell we would still be in the playoffs now, but maybe next season eh? I wish that we had saved the money spent on Showumnis signing, he is the sort of player you need when you are shoring up the defence when at the arse end of the table and want a big forward to hold the ball up when playing up front on his own, no one has ever stormed the playoffs without goal scorers. Allesandra is another big blow for us, Reid is half the player without him feeding him. |

| I believe Argyle have blown the chance to re-sneak into the play-Offs this season. Yes, they got into the position after beating Chesterfield, but then went downhill rapidly - the dreaded wobble.
They say it is not over until it is impossible in a maths sense (unless Argyle go on to win their remaining 6 matches [18 pts = 73] and others f*** up big time ?), but i feel it is now.
I stated at the start of the season that i thought Argyle would finish between 9th and 11th, i still stand by that. The team have done a fantastic job in getting to where they are now [whatever the playing budget actually was] and if they had had a better start to the season, who knows, they may have been sitting pretty.
The loss of a certain player at a crucial time has not helped, but the team can take some heart for efforts contributed.
Next season they will need to get out of League Two in one of the three promotion places and i think they will achieve that outcome. With some tinkering of the team during the Summer break i think Argyle will be a stronger unit and surely one of the bookies choices to go up. |

| Win our game in hand v Newport and we're only 2 points off play offs. Making up 2 points in 5 games shouldn't be too hard for a team that made up 11 in what 8 games earlier in the season? But we do need to step out this rut sharpish. Continue more of the form shown in the 2nd half yesterday rather than more of that embarrassing first half display. |

Much better season though, if we do fall short the direction is still upwards. |

| I think that's a very pertinent point from Czar re:Southend.
They were absolutely sunk. They had gone TWELVE games without a win. They were on far worse form than we're on. All of a sudden they then won three games in a row.
If we can do the same and win three in a row then we'll probably be 7th by the end of them. Far from beyond possibility. It's a mad old league. |

| It's gonna be a mad old last game too, just hope ours and Pompey's league 2 future isn't secured beforehand, it could be a cracker. |

Which is exactly what York would have said when they were 20th at New Year and what Southend would have said after 12 without a win. Inconsistent league. |

| The difference is, we're really unlucky. We don't break the mould that often. In our 125+ attempts, we've only really walked a league two or three times. |

But we don't need to walk it, we only need to get 7th in it |

| Let's be realistic here.
To get a play-off spot we'll probably need to win 5 of our last 6 games. Then we need to win a 2-legged play-off and a final to go up.
All of which means we need to win 7 of our last 9 games (or do better).
It's not impossible but it is hardly likely to happen. |

| Return to 442 or 4411 at home would increase the likelihood |

It's not impossible but it is hardly likely to happen. Fair point- though I'd just be slightly pedantic and point out that draws could go to penalty shoot-outs etc but I get what you're saying. It's unlikely and it would require form to turn around in quite a dramatic way. But it's been done before. I'd also argue that if we did win 5 out of 6 (I think win 4 and draw 2 may do it too) then we'd be going into it with all the momentum and those sides are (I think) the side statistically most likely to win the play-offs. It isn't likely but I do think stranger things have happened. What I would say however is that Tuesday is pretty much win or bust. |

| We're 5 points behind. Beat Newport and then it's 2. Win again and we're 1 ahead if 2 other teams both lose but they probably won't and they both have better goal difference. So we need a 3rd win which we hope will inch us ahead or bring us level. We need a 4th win to actually go ahead then a 5th to stay there.
I can only see room for, at best, a single draw. |

Not a bad idea after the match to hide any sign of being an away supporter and mingle with the crowd, saying "faaaaackin' scummers" in a ridiculous pseudo London accent all the way to Fratton station.Anyway,Pompey will be safe and we won't be going anywhere, probably fizzle out into a mutual back slapping fest.Fings ain't wot they used to be.Good thing too as far as Fratton Park is concerned. |

| I will be meeting some Pompey mates in an undisclosed drinking hole, I have been told to play it cool and no antagonistics and I'll be fine - pretty much the same as any away game really!! Dont believe there will be anything on this game anyhow. |
