It's feast or famine with Holloway. His successful spells were when he succeeded decent managers. Grayson at Blackpool, Pulis at Plymouth, Freedman at Palace.

Against that he had a hand in two relegations in one season (Bristol Rovers, QPR), also relegations at Leicester and Blackpool as well as potentially Palace last season and probably Millwall this season.

It looks like he's been found out.

That's right.

If Sturrock had his way we'd have had a midfield of Charlie Adam and Glenn Whelan, who's spent the last six years distinguishing himself in the Premier League.

Where would he have played Walton? (who probably cost as much as either of the above)

They'd need a good goal scorer up front as well someone like MacClean

Don't forget that Sturrock also moved on some rubbish like Puncheon (shipped out after on game against Cardiff) and a lad called Reid (don't know what happened to him) and never gave a lad called Barnes a chance either

Be honest, Sturrock bought so much crap to the Club, he could have renamed it Chelson Meadow

None of which I'd disagree with my point was that decent players went to a crap club (at the time) and that those type of players will come to Argyle if persuaded by an enthusiastic manager and a bit of cash, Sturrock wanted them Olly got them, that was my point not a Luggy love in by any means.
