| I've stopped my season ticket in the last two years, I've been to as many games as any of the so called superfans, cheeky feckers. I actually went all the time under evil Dan, although a wanker he did put cash into the club and dare I say it I'd rather have him than Brent, at least when he did the horseshoe it was a decent enough job. |

|
Anyone any idea how the international "farming" branch of his business is going? It's been interesting to read all the comments from Mr Brent referring to the money-making & financial aspects of it with, as far as I've seen, no mention of staving off hunger, finding local solutions & supporting human-scale developments.
The thing is, I have no problem with scaling back the spec in the new development. Indeed, why on earth do we need "white oak doors" or shiny steel rails? I want a development that sits lightly in environmental terms. With regard to that, we were promised state of the art energy generation, use of grey water, etc. I hope that hasn't been quietly shelved. I want something that lasts and does the job we all want.
I also want something that is creative, distinctive & even quirky. Quirky is good. A lighthouse on top would actually be good. I really don't want a structure that is the same as every other feckin development around the country. The sort of thing that if you are in a shopping centre - where nowadays people go to worship - you have to remind yourself which city you are in because they all look the same.
Maybe it's a bit late for all of that.
I think that it's going fine Knecht. The bankers soon realised that they had fecked up their own power base pretty thoroughly, with interest being paid at one or two per cent they have siphoned the cash reserves that should be helping the economy to recover and invested in land which has been seeing a seven per cent rise year on year. When it's not really their money it makes good business sense. Oh, and don't forget the subsidies that we the tax payers give to these new hands off guardians of the countryside. |

| Hey, that's given me a good idea for a statue........ "The Unknown Super-fan". Now that would be eye-catchingly unique. |

You want it to light up as well and cast a distracting beam around HHP every twenty seconds. Or not light up and just look like a giant dildo? |

What... You want it to light up as well and cast a distracting beam around HHP every twenty seconds. Or not light up and just look like a giant dildo? I'd go for the dildo during the week & daytime. The lighthouse would only be used at night (or inclement weather) of course. I'd get Seadog to offer his expertise to the club to help with the design. Better still - as the Hoe is in imminent danger of disappearing - I'd suggest moving Smeaton's Tower further inland. And erect it on top of the stadium. You can't have too many erections. Hoe disappearing. |

| The Emirates cost something like £300m. None of us expect that. None of us expect even a 10th of that. What we do expect from our 'matchday experience' though is something that isn't going to fall apart after three years. The horeshoe needs a revamp - a lot of the seats are faded and the catering kiosks are too small. There's no queue system outside the Lyndhurst, put one in and extend the catering/toilets outwards a little and make more room in the concourse. At half time, it's chaos. How much would that cost? £100,000 maybe? As for the grandstand and beneath it, cutting corners and putting in cheap doors etc. will only lead to further costs to revamp that in five years. The Civic Centre was built 50 years ago to a very high spec at the time - the materials used were high end and a lot of those are still in situ - doors just need a varnish/paint every now and again. Building it cheap is a false economy - cheap fixtures and fittings don't last.
Having said that, in five years, Brent is unlikely to be here. |

When I moved to North Dorset for work in 79 a lonely Argyle fan, met up with the Gilllingham Spurs Supporters club, obviously in a seedy boozer there - in the days of Ardiles, Falco, Galvin and Miller had my head turned for a split second (18 months). Had some cassic days out on the Shelf, far too easy to get to London on the train from there - dont worry, was only a fad although I realise I have now lived in the vicinity for longer than my Janner upbringing. Me and my 3 lads are all Argyle fans at the end of the day although all 3 were born on Yeovil Hospital!! In this order Argyle, Scotland (for my dad) and Spurs!! Just back from pub if it dont make sense!! |

To the PC brigade - The Woolwich were, are and always will be Gy--s Maybe so Damon but we have a small bunch of words that offend some people and that is one of them I am afraid. I actually know of several travellers who are Argyle fans who read this site, they don't like being called that or read it. |

I thought the farming side was JB's core business, far bigger than his (former) hotel empire. Are you saying he isn't involved in farming at all now Damon ? What does that leave him with now ? Saltrock, Pavilions, Argyle & 4 hotels. Anyone know any different ? |

That's absurd to suggest that he's broke, he's got forty five quid in his wallet IN CASH! Porky saw it when they drove up to Rovers, James was going to put twenty quid in to get home, but Porky had a quick auction at the services then the GTs had a whip round so they filled up for him. He's still got the cash. |
