- Interesting article that. Does anyone know the exact dates that Brent was chairman of the Plymouth Development Corporation? I do know that that organisation was heavily involved in the World Cup plans and it would be kind of ironic/thought provoking if Brent was part of the World Cup bid.
James Brent became a Director of PCDC Ltd on 21st April 2008, you may be surprised to learn that a certain Tudor Evans became a Dircetor of the same company on the same date. Or maybe you won't be surprised. Not surprised at all. In that case, Brent would have surely been aware of the World Cup Bid and even a willing partner. It's interesting that he's presented as diametrically opposed to the 'Malignant Seven' yet he would have been working relatively closely with Keith Todd wouldn't he?
Next then is some clarity on whether Akkeron were at all involved in the Bid, or whether it was just Brent as the Chairman of the PCDC. Whilst it would have been interesting to link the two I have it on good authority that PCDC had no direct input into the World Cup bid. The link would have been James Coulton from the Council reporting back to Viv Pengelly, the then council leader who was also a director of PCDC. Nothing to hang on Brent there. |

| Reading this, reinforces my view that the club should start again, the vision of F.C. Argyle of Plymouth shines a bit more brightly after reading this. |

| The sheep have reclaimed the comments section for their own, glad to have a club to support, moaners don't come up with a credible alternative (apart from the WG plans being glibly dismissed by Brenty) and the good old "it's not your money do shut t f u." the thing is Brent is not using his own money, he uses other people's money and before someone mentions the loans to the club please tell me how much the loans amount to and the terms of repayment. Anyway I smell bullshit, lots of it, don't be surprised if the Ministand gets yet another haircut before building starts, if it ever starts. Word of advice James, when I had a small building firm we started on small jobs just to get experience and to get to know the language, try to run before you can walk and you will get in trouble. |

| I can only see one comment in the 200% article - it's from Pete. Nothing wrong with it. The Herald has no comment from Pete.

Whatchoo talkin' 'bout Angry? pete is greenjock and although im not saying his point isnt right it could have done without the pasoti/atd bits as its not needed and looks petty. Stick to facts that the fans want to know that is the important thing here. |

| I know Pete is greenjock - we play scrabble together online and we're friends on Facebook. I just wondered what the 'bad idea' was as Pete's comment is very un-greenjock. He didn't even call any one a cnut. |

Ah Pat - unfortunately I will have to decline your kind offer - I'm happily married. The avatar pics are my husband's idea - he said I should change it every month during 2014. If it's too distracting I'll stop. Now boys - back on topic please |

| I remember long and wistful conversations with 'ArgyleGirl'(?!) on RotG where I really felt we connected and it was all nice and she was lovely to chat to and stuff. Then I found out that it was a joke pseudonym from a well known male poster 'the lark', and needless to say I was hurt, upset* and it made me feel all stupid...
*didn't stop me masturbating furiously tho; emotional fup-fupping is the best kind. |

And despite the endless references to having a 'lovely purple top', none of us twigged. I may be seeing said man in a couple of weeks - I'll give him your love |

| Leading the charge by playing the man and not the ball. His is the Internet equivalent of sticking your fingers in yours ears and going la la la. I suppose it's an even harder to read if your are Brent's chauffeur and REAL mate.
It'll make an interesting talking point for them all on the trip to Northampton and back. Especially if Nikk has called shotgun and is along for the ride as well. |

Newell leading the charge as usual Green Sam is trying his level best to explain things. What I find most telling is the following comment regarding the writer on 200%............. The Grumpy Loyal Post subject: Re: 200% article about James Brent and where we are...PostPosted: Thu Feb 06, 2014 8:54 pm User avatar Joined: Thu Oct 09, 2003 6:07 pm Like I said, it won't read well for some. But it's the exact same people who penned some excellent probing and sometimes disturbing pieces during our darkest days. They were heralded pretty much unanimously on these boards back then. But now they pen a piece that doesn't paint Brent as the 2nd coming of Christ, and they have an agenda. |

| I can't believe what the post coded one has written. It's exactly because of what the previous owners did that we have to be microscopic about the present owner and the next one and the next one. If the Pope owned the club I wouldn't expect not to scrutinise what he was doing.
I have no sympathy for the plight of Portsmouth Leeds or any team that goes bust because the majority of the fans where and are just concerned with matters on the pitch. I'm especially scathing of ones who have 'let' the club go under more than once.
James Brent might well get the grandstand built, the team might well get promoted, we might get a supporters bar worthy of it's name but whats the problem with watching him like a hawk in the meantime. Afterall there are REAL mates and REAL fans who backed Stapleton well passed his sell by date and who even had a soft spot for the less than fragrant Peter Ridsdale.
Plymouth Argyle is such a small part of James Brent's global business and something you have to believe he's doing for the love of it if it's not for the property development opportunities it affords and unlocks. So I see nothing wrong with having a shufty at his debt heavy accounts (and by the way any socialist worth his salt would be concerned about a 900K transfer to a pension fund by way of public facility passing into private hands).
Who needs to take lessons form anyone who was in a corporate love in with Mr Buttivant anyway. |

Afterall there are REAL mates and REAL fans who backed Stapleton well passed his sell by date and who even had a soft spot for the less than fragrant Peter Ridsdale. This is it for me too. Ever since I first crossed on Pasoti, I knew what he was about. Mr Plymouth Argyle, complete with the pork pie hat, began to realise the power of the internet and how, if he and like minded individuals controlled Argyle's oldest and biggest forum, showed unwavering loyalty to the club and more importantly whomsoever had the keys, he would eventually hit the jackpot. The business lounging helped get him closer to the suits. Many of us were banned from Pasoti for warning against trusting in stapes. Not happy with that, they had to try to silence any other internet presence .Right up til near the bitter end , who was still screaming, 'I'll never hear a bad word about that man and his lovely family !' ? When the PCC/Brent relationship was no doubt presented to the then Trust leader and the Pasoti controller [The Windsor Boys] and statements were made with regard the future being one of no walleted directors and 'we' can rebuild the club, the stage was set. These guys received roles within the club and became real friends with the owner, were consulted secretly on the stadium plans as fans reps and in return they continue to bully and silence dissidents, whip the Avivas and wannabes into a frenzy of Avivafests and bucket rattling, to keep their hero free from the wrath of an informed wider fanbase. These guys aren't stupid. They know the score but position and recognition at HP is everything to this type of Argyle nut. They really do believe that janner apathy is real and choose to ignore the success story of the likes of Swansea. Their council had vision. Just over a decade ago they were almost out of the football league with crowds of 4k. Apathetic Taffies anyone, or is it a case of give people a reason to believe and they will come ? ps would someone in admin/ on Pasoti , please contact spowell92 as he's claiming he's being denied membership here. We all know that would not be the case and it would be good to have him on here to tell his tale ? |
