If JS doesnt bring in a RB and find a Lavery type striker than playoff chase is all but dead. I still believe we will be a high midtable, given the shit we have had to endure the previous seasons that will be seen as a great season in my eyes. It will also give a positive vibe going into the next season too. |

We were poor, very poor i left as soon as the second goal went in as knew we were in for a mullering, Rochdale clearly targeted the flank that Purrington was defending especially in the first half but all in all the whole team was equally abysmal and as for the set pieces don't get me started. Banton looks a shadow of the player he was when we had him before, no wonder Palace/MK? let him go. Quite a trek from the train station to the ground, reasonable price for a pint in that Studds bar beneath the main stand and the birds serving weren't half bad which was probably the only bright part of the day. Spent the best part of 80 quid and that was from travelling in from the North East, i dread to think what it would have cost if one was demented enough to do that trip from Plymouth. Cheers Argyle for another day out of my life what i will never get back. Was posh jimmy x throbber and pasoti royalty in attendance? |

I said between 9th and 11th. I also think we are not a Play-Off team this season, regardless of the signings Shez has made. So i take it that this season has got to be work in progress, with next season being the target to leave L2 [promotion by any means]. Whether that happens is anyone's guess ?.. |

| I think if we did end up promoted it could be the wrong thing to happen. It would increase expectation but I don't think the board would be ready to commit the required money to sustain a higher league. |

Will Shez find another like him though. maybe he wont find a likeminded player but i am confident he could find a just as good if not better player in some premiership/championship reserve/youth squads. Could be this non league player could fit this bill but i highly doubt it. |

God help us with attitudes and fans like this. Should the minor miracle of promotion occur, and the no-marks in the Boardroom honestly can't cobble together a budget of sorts to contest a season in the 3rd feckin division, then we may as well all pack it in now. |

To be fair to Mr R,he isn't actually saying that he agrees with the board if they didn't make money available should the club get promotion,he's surmising that would be the likely scenario.Wouldn't mind hearing why he thinks that would be the case. |

Yeah I got that GS, Rappo wasn't in my line of fire - I was just passing comment on a hypothetical state of affairs if we had somehow got promoted. |

But he seems to be saying because of that, he would rather not be promoted in the first place! This notion of laying 'groundwork' or building foundations etc is just rubbish. You have a chance and you take it! I can't imagine Saint fans a few seasons ago saying, I don't want to go to the Championship because we might get promoted to the Prem straight away, and we won't be ready! |

God help us with attitudes and fans like this. The op was let's get a 35 yr old crock back wiv no legs into the team based on him being successful 10 yrs aago. As for rappo, it's like stapes fretting about managing expectation all those yrs ago. Typically Janner 'not for us' attitude. Jesus I've just read the thread and postey reckons we should play him at RB |

Absolutely agree,Swansea would be another example, probably even better in fact.I just got the impression that Mr Rapson was being a bit cynical about what the true intentions are at the top of the club,i may be wrong. |
