So, Jews existed before there was a Palestinian nation and that means that they should be able to forever have a right to the territory in spite of it being used by somebody else?

Oddly enough, Jews also existed before there was an English nation. Maybe we should set up a Zionsit state here. Cut off half of England, give the South to Israel. Let them gradually encroach and invade into the North, militarily. And even part of the bits that they didn't invade (let's say Cumbria for the sake of example) they would guard it as an open air prison, force it to be the most densely populated area on earth and fire rockets into it from which nobody is safe. Still, on the basis that there were Jews before there was an English people, that should be all fine and dandy by your logic no?

And don't bother saying that it'd be more acceptable to do to Palestine than to do to England because the ancestors of today's Israeli's were in Israel/Palestine thousands of years ago. That logic just doesn't stack up. Can you imagine what carnage would reign in the world if everybody went back to where their ancestors were thousands of years ago? The world would absolutely crumble if that happened. It's no more acceptable for Israel to annex a state where their ancestors lived thousands of years ago than to annex a state where their ancestors never lived. Once again, it wouldn't be accepted if it happened to us so why is it accepted when it happens to Palestine?

What Israel are doing in Palestine isn't self-defence, it isn't retaliation. It is occupation. If Germany invaded and occupied Britain in 1940, as they were threatening to do, and if I was alive and able bodied then I would have been part of the resistance against the occupation. So would many other people from across the political spectrum. That's all that Palestine are doing now. How many people would have lined up to call us terrorists in 1940?

Well stated Iggy and Sam. It all does my head in really, I know its abit simplistic but I do wish people from different countries, religions could just chill out.

Talking is the answer and only way....but Hamas rockets being fired during such a time of cease fire get a similar response x10....will they never understand that a cease fire means both sides stop attacking at the same time.......it includes them as well.

The Bible is probably as accurate as the Murdoch press. In Biblical times there was no Israel or Palestine. Palestine was a British creation when they took over the area from the Turks post WWI. The Turks ruled the area for centuries as tribal provinces. Jews existed in all the provinces.

Firstly my personal opinion. The Gaza situation is of course about retention of power. Terrorist organisations have always earned their money by flexing their muscles and Hamas is no different. Indeed just this evening Reuters are reporting that rockets fired from Gaza have now killed and injured people in Egypt, after all humanitarian ceasefires are useless to the terrorists who only increase their personal wealth by controlling fear.

Gaza is also the frontline in the war of civilisations. Hamas, Islamic State, AlQueda, Boco Haram all born out of the Muslim Brotherhood, all seeking to bring to us the peaceful Islamic Sharia that allows men to marry girls at 8, allows persecution of gays, stops the education of women, stones to death adultresses and generally has a great time crucifying Christians and butchering, slaughtering, raping and starving to death anyone that doesn't follow suit.

I have attended the pro Palestinian rallies in Plymouth - the only Jew in the village going along with my Israeli flag. I have spoken to the Plymouth based Palestinians here and we can talk - sure we disagree about certain things but the one thing we both agree on is that the vast majority of people on both sides of the border want to get on with their lives in peace with their neighbours. The agitators here in Plymouth and from speaking to others around the country there too are the far peft +)- the dinosaurs of the Socialist Workers Party. Bloody Communists who in their time have killed far more Jews than war in Israel ever has. They stand as organisers (just look at the banners) and wind up Asian Muslims from Other parts of the world to continue their vile anti semitic drivel. A platform for them because they are just non entities in the world of British politics.
Palestine has never existed as a country. The first time it was ever recognised was in 47/8 and the option offered, sharing the land - the two state solution - was flatly rejected by the Arab world. Since that time Egypt and Jordan have recognised the state of Israel and there is peace between them. Israel returned Sanai (an area far greater than Israel itself and rich in natural reserves)to the Egyptians in a land for peace deal. There is only one party that calls for genocide. Hamas. Article 13 of the Hamas Charter states that no talks shall decide the fate if the land. It's Jihad that will win back the land from tge Jews and the oft quoted mantra of many a terrorist leader to drive the Jews into the sea. Palestinians must reject Hamas. Israel must talk to Fatah. The settlements must stop. Return to the 67 borders if peace is guaranteed - but for that to happen their must be recognition that a Jewish State is here to stay. One tiny Jewish State in the midst of 23 muslim states. Green Army!
