Exeter Chiefs are to start work on doubling their stadium capacity early in 2014 after successfully hitting a £7.5m fundraising goal. The team, which is officially known as Exeter Rugby Club, announced the Exeter Chiefs 2020 Bond has just passed its £7.5m target. This bond was launched in August 2013. Exeter Chiefs plan to transform their home stadium Sandy Park by doubling capacity to 20,600, building three new grandstands, adding a 1,000-seat auditorium, and expanding conferencing and banqueting facilities. Phase one of the long-term development involves extending the conferencing and banqueting facilities to hold 1,000 delegates, introducing seating to replace the existing South West and North West terraces, enlarging the car park and relaying the pitch. Exeter Rugby Group chairman Tony Rowe said: "I am delighted that so many people share the same vision and passion that I have for the club and for Sandy Park." The Exeter Chiefs 2020 Bond was open to private and corporate investors. Exeter Chiefs were guided through the bond issue by Isca Ventures, Michelmores and Prydis Wealth. Mark Champion, partner at Isca Ventures, said: "We were delighted to play a leading role in putting the Exeter Chiefs 2020 Bond together and providing corporate finance support throughout this transaction." James Priday, director at Prydis Wealth, said: "We think it's fantastic that the money was raised in such a way that allowed members and fans to participate in the Chiefs' future." Stephen Morse, partner at Michelmores, added: "We are very lucky to have top-flight rugby being played on our doorstep, and it's great to have played a key role in something that will both help the club go from strength to strength and give a huge boost to business in the region." Went to Twickers on Saturday to watch them play Quins, bloody good game, but my curse of backing the losers was more than they could overcome.

| Mental how much further the money goes up the road, the clusterfuck is costing £10million yet Chiefs can build three stands and conferencing facilities for £7.5million? Shorly some mistake? |

| All the more strange considering the reluctant one has always praised the Chiefs model as something to aspire to and has often referred to it as a positive example of a sports business. |

Portsmouth Argyle are to start work on quadrupling their stadium capacity early in 2097 after successfully hitting a £3.50p fundraising goal. The team, which is officially known as James Brent Pension Fund Inc, announced The Light Green Stripey Shirt 2020 No Vision Bond Timber Fund has just passed its £3.50p target. This bond was launched in August 1813. Portsmouth Argyle plan to transform their home stadium Barron Trophy Cabinet by quadrupling capacity to 4000, building three new doctors surgeries, adding a 1,000-seat Nando's, and expanding IJN's waistline. Phase one of the long-term development involves extending Mr Brent's property portfolio, introducing car parking to replace the existing FEZ Devonport End and REAL mates directors box, enlarging the Mrs Brent's pension pot and removing the pitch. Portsmouth Argyle's Club President said: "I am delighted that so many people share the same vision and passion that I have for the club and for Brent Park." The Light Green Stripey Shirt 2020 No Vision Bond Timber Fund was open to REAL mates. Portsmouth Argyle were guided through the bond issue by FEZ, FILyourBoots and Leverage Wealth. Stephen ... - - - ... added: "We are very lucky to have 4th divsion football being played on our doorstep, and it's great to have played a key role in something that will both help the club go from mediocrity to mediocrity and give a huge boost to monkey business in the region."

Our £10m also includes a hotel/cinema etc. so it's a diferent thing entirely. Up the road has the M5, an airport and a train station - we have a train station.... |

| I thought the whole HHP development (miniStand, Cinema, Hotel, Ice rink etc.) was coming in at 50mil?
The miniStand on it's own was deffo quoted as being 10mil. |

Up the road has the M5, an airport and a train station - we have a train station.... Wrong, the ministand alone has been priced at £10million, with the whole HHP shantytown coming in at a cool £55million............oh and we've got a major seaport. |

| Nice to see a "local" club acting with ambition and with the future in mind. Pity we have jannars who are just glad to have a club. |

| £10m for a stand... bonkers.
I went to Barnsley on boxing day and did the corporate thing - it was rubbish. Their corporate/Legends Bar is tiny - there weren't enough seats for a start and the food looked poor. We had a coffee at half time AND a hob-nob. They had one TV showing the Man Utd v Hull game. Maybe it's just a football thing that clubs seem to have no idea what fans want. |

| I was yapping to a taxi driver concerning the Grandstand at Argyle and he said that all the contracts have been signed. All parties are now waiting for a change in the weather to start work...
How true any of the above is,is anyone's guess !! |

| I'm sure that would be a major news story if it was true. The usual leakees wouldn't have been able to contain their excitement on twitter or Pasoti. |

Up the road has the M5, an airport and a train station - we have a train station.... And there was me thinking Hairy had been following the development saga. And what does OURS mean ? I think you're taking the modern day "inclusivity" a bit too literally Hairy, but then they would have hoodwinked you with that at "Uni". Inclusivity only applies to debts, not pension pots and fenced off parkland. There's none so blind that do not want to see. Since when does a cinema, a "middle market" (earth ?) eaterie, and an ice rink need a motorway feed ? They could probably do with free parking though, in the old spirit of free park access for all, so they'll make sure there isn't any . Sorry, but your comments are just the same old "players don't wanna come here" routine reworked for property development. Funny how Holloway had no problem attracting players without a motorway to seduce them with. |

Is it me or does he simply not get this football thing? "did the corporate thing", at Barnsley? Tosser! The Chiefs have definitely got summat going which I think is great with me Chiefs hat on, even if we froze at Twickers, but when I swap it for me slightly battered City hat I see them leeching most of the available fundage out of the locale, this seven and a half bar is just the beginning and they will be doing far more damage to us than they will to you, so maybe at some distant point in the future you may once again aspire to being Devon's No.1 footy team, but not just yet, four years and counting. |

| Your football team will still have Burnt House Lane to canvas for new fans. The rugby team won't bother there. |

| I remember when some wags didn't like the landlord of the Dolphin, so when his family woke up next morning, they couldn't open the pub. The doorway had been bricked up.
