| Found this on the net. A village called Denbury, not far from Newton Abbot. See the teams we used to play. Look how far we've come! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]That's better! |

That's better! I would imagine that the Tottenham and Fulham matches would have been in the old Football Combination, which was a brilliant reserve league, very strong with most of the London clubs,Southampton,Ipswich,Norwich, the Bristol clubs etc in it.The standard was very high because teams were allowed only one sub and players out of favour or coming back from injury actually played rather than get splinters up their arse on a weekly basis. Some very good crowds were attained [13000 at HP to see Jimmy Greaves play for Spurs on his return from a spell in Italy] and the experience gained by young players at grounds like Highbury,White Hart Lane etc must have been invaluable. Now we're lucky to get a behind closed doors match against Forest Green Rovers reserves as preparation for the first team on a Saturday. How times have changed.Chunter, spit etc. |

| Weren't the Argyle Ambassadors (hows that going btw apart from our one) meant to put similar fixtures lists up around the place - school workplace etc. I think Baba(?) used to wax lyrical about posters appearing in newsagent etc in exchange for a couple of free tickets. |

| Is that a teas maid? A feckin ridiculous invention - just what you want when you're asleep, an alarm clock attached to a vessel of boiling water and a lightbulb. |

Shite, the number of emails that come out of the club are so few that they can be counted on one hand. Pathetic really, nice idea in principle, poor execution. |
