| It still astonishes me that a group of friends and intelligent professional people, would ALL leave their babies and toddlers unattended in rooms while they went out each night for restaurant meals. Its even worse when the little girl said to her mum the night before "why didn't you come when I was crying last night mummy?"
Can you imagine the tabloid response if this had been a bunch of council house families leaving their kids like that?
It's tragic, but it still beggars belief that they could all be so irresponsible. |

| I don't believe for one minute that she was kidnapped. Two doctors leaving their kids alone after giving them sleeping tablets? feck off.
Czarcasm is spot on. If this were a chav family they'd have been crucified in the press.
They should be charged with child neglect if you ask me.
They make my blood boil all the attention they've had while other families with genuine abductions are left alone after a few months. |

| Czarcasm has it spot on. It's quite normal here for kiddies to be out late at night sharing a meal with their parents. I don't have children but it feels to me that the parents in this case were very irresponsible. The locals here feel the same way. |

This^ Although it's desperately sad and I couldn't possibly imagine the complete pain and distress the parents, or any parents going through or have been through this sort of experience. But, a lot of children go missing everyday, never to be seem again. Why don't they have the media attention or countless police resources chucked at those cases? I don't know if I'm just being a callous bastard here, perhaps I have become sanitised to this particular case, but I'm sick to death of the blanket coverage this is getting, whilst all around us the planet is turning into rat-shit. |

| From watching the reconstruction, it's sad to say the McCanns and their friends have contributed massively to the situation. Any would-be thieves or undesirables hanging about, or even working in or around the complex would have noticed this very large group that always left their kids and ate out at the restaurant each evening. A green light for what should have been a straight-forward burglary maybe?

| I think there's enough circumstantial evidence like them renting a car after she went missing and the discrepancies in their friends stories that give me enough reason to doubt the whole abduction story.
Forensics showed the mother had human blood on her hands which she put down to examining bodies before they went on holiday, which was proven to be a lie.
They admit giving sedatives to her which shows you what sort of people they are and yet they write a book about it which has sold by the bucketload?
They're scum in my eyes. |

| It was interesting looking at it through the fresh eyes of my kids who sat and watch with me. They knew about Madeleine McCann but because of being young when it happened hadn't taken any notice of the wider story. Now they are more grown up they have opinions that they voiced during the programme.
Firstly they can't believe that the parents choose to leave their children alone and go off to eat and drink. In fact they thought it was plain wrong. Again in their eyes there is an amount of blame attached to them.
Secondly they just found the McCann's 'supicious' and without any emotion. Which lead them to believe they were involved.
We explained that it was the person who took the girl who is ultimately guilty in this and that trying to read people is fraught with misinterpretation but it was interesting in how they saw it.

| From the mouths of babes?
Another strange thing is that restaurants abroad welcome families with children at night so why leave them in the first place?
I reckon they were all swingers. |

| One of the people the police wanted to trace was a man carrying a child seen close to the apartment. He was eliminated from the investigation when it was discovered he was a parent who had just collected his child from, and get this, a free crèche at the apartments. It makes the decision to leave the children alone whilst they dined even stranger. |

| So relieved to see so many other people saying what I've been thinking.
For some reason (I've got a cold, so I'm using feeling a bit poorly as an excuse) I watched Crimewatch last night - the first time in years. When that poor little girl first disappeared I was incensed that they'd left her, but I didn't know then what they highlighted last night: those apartments were in effect just ordinary houses in an ordinary street, outside the boundary of the 'resort' - and the apartment they were in was very, very accessible to anybody who might fancy dropping in uninvited. How anybody could leave any child unattended there for any length of time - let alone half an hour - is beyond me.
And. Not only do lots of children - sadly, again - go missing every year. But also: if these children had had a single mum, living in a council house, she'd have been branded a 'chav' (yeuch), 'home-alone mum'. And she'd have been paraded all over the tabloids, almost certainly faced criminal charges - and had any other children taken away from her.
And - AND - the last thing that would have happened would have been an intervention from the prime minister and the diversion of all those police resources.
One rule for the photogenic, articulate, middle class professional - and another, completely different one for the rest of us. It stinks. |

| Always was a tad suspicious of the McCanns when it happened. Can't believe how much of the tax payers purse is being used on this case when people go missing every day. |

| Their behaviour afterwards was not how you would think bereaved parents would act. Add the inconsistent stories etc and the blood found at the apartment and in the car . Very strange |
