| For decades I have been trying to work out 'why' Plymouth remains the backwater it is, despite its history of maritime fame. Despite the beautiful location. Admittedly, it is a long way from anywhere. So far that Jimmy Greaves once quipped that it is so far south and west, that the footbal club ought to be in the Spanish Leagues ! But it is a city club with a large catchment area and before top flight exposure cemented their respective fanbases, we were support wise, on a par with Southampton and Norwich. In more recent times, clubs like Hull, Reading, Brigton, Cardiff and Swansea have left us in their wake with demonstrations of cash backed ambition. What do we get ? An unholy alliance between a few council dunces, a local newspaper, some self promoting janners who own and control the biggest supporters' forum and an ex Citibank property developer with more guile than a crocodile. Why are most Plymothians viewed as dimwitted and/or chavvy ? Is Exeter really a more sophisticated place ? I don't know, haven't lived in the area for over 40 years. I think I've stumbled upon the reason quite accidentally after all these years. It's the Aviva gene ! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Right Big Dave ? Geddon ye janner ! |

So basically over the lifetime of the mini-stand that can't be extended (50 years??) that will be many millions of pounds that could have potentially been going to PAFC. Way more than it would have cost us to build it. But just be grateful anyway. spowell92: How do you know this? |

| If it proves anything yeserday listening to the commentary - it's Radio Devon is a load of cock! and Plymouth Argyle will not get promotion this season oh and given our fannying around trying to score it was almost completly predictable the Irons would score late in the second half. 24 pts up for grabs so far and we have 9 I know it's better than Accy but for all the talk it is shite! |

| Well according to The Herald report, spit, it's a lack of goals that's the problem. No shit Sherlock! The thing that really get's me about the report though is that according to Errington when Rene Howe was available in the summer he was out of our price range. So he signed for Burton Fuckin Albion with their gates of 3,000. It's not the lack of goals that's the problem it's the lack of a feckin owner willing to match Burton Fuckin Albion for ambition. | Similarly Ryan Dickson who left after not being able to agree terms despite training with us for 6 weeks, being a proven success at this level and higher and a local lad to boot.
Dickson signed for Colchester instead. Colchester's average crowd so far this season is 3715 and ours is 7397.
(Burton Albion average 3038 so far this season.)
Who else were we interested in but didn't sign? |

Who else were we interested in but didn't sign? The figures are definitely not adding up to a competetive budget if you ask me. |
