| Sheridan has apparently 'threatened' changes for the trophy match against Cheltenham. It's also traditionally a match that allows a few fringe players to get a run out. But who, if anyone is Sheridan going to bring in?
Cole will presumably come in for McCormick. Would like to see Richards play, but suspect that if there is a change at CB, Blanchard or Nelson would get the nod ahead of Richards.
There seems to be a problem at LB. Purrington played during preseason but seems to have disappeared. I'd like to see him given a shot. Otherwise there'll presumably be a 4-man rock-paper-scissors tournament to decide which of Nelson, Berry, Blanchard and Blackman get lumbered with the left back position.
Who else can be brought in further up the field? Young and Gurreri seem to be the only options in midfield. However they were regulars in last year's disappointing season, so it's doubtful whether they are really going to change the team's fortunes. Ryan Lane, like Purrington, seems to have disappeared. Only other option is to move Blanchard or Nelson up to midfield. Up front there is only really Harvey that is back up to Morgan and Reid, unless Chadwick is invited back to the fold! Slim pickings! |

| This competition should be taken seriously by the club and not seen as a "pointless competition" imo. We aren't going to win the FA Cup or League Cup anytime soon so this is as good as it gets. |

| Agree with Angry. This is a competition that could divert the masses attention from the usual dross. In addition it remains our best avenue for a bloody good day out so I would play our strongest team. |

| Anyone going to this one?? I'm off work and tempted to go as I missed the league match and it's only a tenner. My mate is also doing stewarding for this one and usually works the grandstand/directors box area. I've already shown him nools picture on the Herald website, it'd be a shame if he were to do something naughty and het ejected wouldn't it |

Amended for factuals. Could this finally be some sign of the Gargs getting real? No chance in the FA Cup, no chance in the League Cup, seemingly no chance of promotion out of the basement leaving the most ambitious of Gargs hoping for mid table mediocrity. Happy days. |

Yes you do, it would be pretty definitive sign that you were getting better on the field, if you are going to spend the rest of your life wanting your club to fail just because some tw@t would enjoy himself then even I as a City fan would have to pitty you. We are shiite and have some real head up their own arses wankers running our club, but I would take any win, anywhere, any time. We fooked up the semi agin Brentford a couple of years ago and I was just as gutted as when fooking Curzon and Ashton whipped our arses in the FA Cup. Suffer the bad days because the good'uns are really good. |

| I see what you're saying m8 but to me it would be an opportunity for Nooly etc to tell us they told us so and everything is alright when clearly, it's not. |

| Ball coccks, we need wins, we need cup runs, we are a club with an unknown but obviously high level of debt still. We have to hope that the money gets paid off, JB certainly isn't going to cough up for any of the land that came his way. The stand will provide no additional income that we don't already have and a decent couple of cup runs could see us actually competing in this league with the debt cleared from the club, no doubt Newell would enjoy this, it doesn't stop me wanting it to happen, it's best for the club and for us it's fans. Anyway Newell isn't fooling anybody. |
